Topic: Will iMac change my life?

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi, I'm strongly thinking of changing from pc to Mac. I have a questions to help me decide.

1. Would the 21.5-inch iMac (see specs below)
be good enough to run VDJ7 Pro while using an Allen & Heath Xone 4D and a pair of Xone 1D's and an Audio8DJ Soundcard in a club setting?

3.06GHz Intel Core i3
1920-by-1080 resolution
4GB memory
8x double-layer SuperDrive
ATI Radeon HD 4670 with 256MB

2. Is the Mac version of VDJ7 as good/better/worse than the pc version?

3. Will this machine handle midi efficently?

Thanks in advance.

if you get that mac u are set but i would lean more towards a mac book pro i switch from pc to mac and it was the best move ever love mac

Once you go mac, you never go back!

You'll have better sound quality and performance with Mac but you won't be able to use "some" of VDJ the plug-ins (i.e. video effects) that are available in PC.

Yeah I'm going to go for an iMac. Maybe 2.5'', i5, 2TB HD with 8GB RAM. But I'm still curious as to wheather the Mac vers is as good as the pc vers, i.e. fuctions, effects, filters, skin resolution etc. A lot of pc users say that pc vers is better, but the Mac sure looks great to me.

I'm not worried about video effects as I just do audio anyway and I don't bother too much with audio effects either; except the long brake which takes me back to my vinyl days... But I can live without it.

Wow I Just Did That The 1st Of The Year Of 2011 And It Was A JobWith In A Job For Me,4 Years Of PC Info Had To Be Chang To Fat32 So I Can Read It On The Mac And Now That I Have Chang Over Some Of My Effects On The Mac I Don't Have,(video & Sound )It Will Work Out In The Long Run.KEEP Your Pc And Buy You Two ExHD For Your Videos One For Mac And One For PC With The Seem Format And Rip Your Music On Your PC To Make Changes To The Info In Detail.Good Luck

AMEN TO THAT...

My two cent,
I've been using Virtual On PC since 2000 back then is was call "Atomix", ya member! LOL. The reason I went from PC to MAC was bacause of bad audio Latency/ audio drop. I DJ @ a Club with 1000s of People and one of the most embarrassing things that can happen to you is audio drop!; that sec or two of silence you get went the music cut out because of some program running in the background of some PCs. So I thought to myself maybe it my Toshiba, so I bought another PC; A DELL with a 2.93 duo Core process. 6gb of ram and a 128Soild State Drive, whoa! tell me about it pretty penny, @ the time it cost 3500 bucks :'( and nope! same glitches; audio Latency/ audio drop program freezing etc, etc. and sometime your midi controller depending how much juice the unit is pulling via USB. My DJConsole worked like a Champ on my Toshiba! but my RMX not so much. the data rate of transfer on my Toshiba wasn't good enough to suppose the RMX, and it said it at the Back of the RMX manual, "May not work well on some computers" now they tell me... So I bought Macbook Pro Core i5 processor 2.53 Ghz, 4Gb of Ram up'ed to 8Gb (Cheap upgrade and recommend) and 500Gb HDD @ 5400rpm (too Slow! up'ed that too!) 128SSD. you asked will it handle your Midi ? flawlessly! iMac??? are you planning to move around a lot ? Laptop are just more mobile. Oh and if you're gonna get a Macbook Pro, I read in a article a while back to plug in you Midi control to the USB closest to you! better all around performance! Yes! you do lose a lot of video effects vs having a PC but the Pros. are so much sweeter! Sound Quality, reliability, Rock solid Performance! and as far video goes transfer rates matter a lot there too! you need fire-wire or better! and for ExHDs goes look for 7200rpms or better!

Maximus Moretta Out! \m/

P.S. if you're wondering why I wrote so much, I'm deployed, I'm Boarded and DeeJaying is My Obsession!
