Topic: Signal issue with 7.0.2?

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Using 7.0.2 (Mac wit RMX)
This is the only signal I\'m getting with using Serato Vinyl.
It\'s about a 10month old serato, with not that much crazy use. Could that be it?

There is one channel of your signal missing. Please check cables, needle and all connections !

I was only testing one time code (cause I only have 1 TC vinyl at the moment)

As for cables/needles... regular vinyl works, so I'm thinking perhaps I need new TC vinyl.

No,

what i want to say is that you need a STEREO signal for Timecode usage and on channel is missing !

Maybe your system or cables are broken ?

Hmm.. interesting. Now i'm confused.
I've tested both of my 1200's on my home theatre system (McIntosh amp + Totem speakers), and they sounded flawless. Sounded unbelievable actually (but that's what a $$$ set up will get ya)

Let me add this, I did recently change my cartridge/needle.
Is it possible that there's not enough weight on the arm that it's not reading correctly?

I don't think so. Because you get some signal of the device.

Are you shure both chinch cables are connected to your soundcard ?

Soundcard has PHONO Inputs and they are correctely enabled ?

Check your Chinch cable (red/white) - you can remove one of them when the signal get's lost the OTHER cable has a prob. When the signal did not change then you hold the cable with the problem in your hand.

If it is my RCA's, how hard are those to get fixed?

Also, a settings question.

I remember there used to be "Noisemap" selection, now there's "Serato Vinyl CV02- A" "Serato Vinyl CV02- B" and "Serato Vinyl A- new beta engine". "Serato Vinyl B- new beta engine". Which one should I be selecting? And what's the difference between them.

Thanks a million, also

just get a new set of rcas

seeing as ive had this problem in the past ill give you a list of things to do

connect your tables direct to an amp or hifi, play the timecode at a reasonable levet and check you are getting a signal.

as previously stated check the wiring on your carts.

to check your rca's if theyre connected to the tables then use a regular piece of vinyl to test them. if one is broken you will be missing either a top end or low frequency ( high hats or bass). if this is all good, reconnect everything to your laptop. in the vdj confign toto timecode config and set everything to midway except the silence which you want really low for now.

push play on your TCV, if you get just that one line then move the left/right and phase/anti dials one at a time through their complete rotation and watch for the line shrinking or widening.

they should be manipulated so they form a circle as perfect as possible in the centre of the grid. to aid this you can temporarily turn the gain all the way up.

if there is no sign of it turning into a circle then hit the debug button. in here try checking the invert signal stereo box. and hit ok.

now try again to change the left/right and phase/anti to manupilte the signal into a circle.

you see sometimes for some strange unknown reason (probably a wrongly wired cable from the manufacturer) the signal phase is backwards even if everythings wired correctly.

if still none of this works then go to the perfornamces tab in config and set the latency to auto. now exit vdj all together. open up your soundcard control panel and set your latency to 256 for now as its relitivley safe and stable for most applications.

also check that your sample rate is not too high, you can set it to auto which is best in my opinion.

be sure that none of the input/output volumes is no louder than 70%. save and reboot your entire system. eg switch everything off at the plug.

next turn it back on and reopen vdj.

check again to see if you can control the signal with the left/right and phase/anti adjustments.

if this hasnt solved your problem then theres something else wrong that i could only suggest someone else may know.

the methods listed above have worked for me on several occasions. hope this helps and hope you get it fixed soon.

oh and also be sure to check you have the corect side of the vinyl listed in your settings. playing side B and having side A listed in the settings can cause problems. check also if there is any difference in each side and use the inner part of the timecode rather than the more used outer whilst you do your checks.

Thank you my friend for the multiple solutions. Your a good pal.
I will follow up with these and let you know.

The wiring of the cartridge was wrong... fixed them, and it WORKS!!!!

Thanks Everyone!!
