Can you use an passive sub and hook up powered satellites as a set up or is it better to have all the same types? Passive or active I have the tha15 thumps and theirs a guy on craigslist that been trying to sell a set up due to a hooka lounge not being able to get a license. So he's been posting for the longest time so I figure I might throw him an offer. he has a amp to run it all the this other stuff to only thing I think he got rid of was the controller.

No you can't however you can do it the other way around with selected manufactures mainly German for some reason, active bass, passive top

You can use a Passive sub along side of powered speakers. For the Passive sub, just get a strong enought amp to push it. Now coming out of your mixer, you have the main out puts & if your mixer also has booth out or line out, you can use that too. Its more wires but it will work.

Thought we were talking about something clever, such as - active/passive hybrid config
Original poster, send signal leads from amp links to your active tops seen as you don't have a proper mixer with the right connections.
PS you shouldn't be using the RMX as a stand alone mixer!! it's a midi controller, sick of having this conversation.
