Topic: Xone 4D or not 4D?

Anyone got a Xone 4D running with VDJ7? I really want to get one but I'm having trouble writing a definition file for my Xone 1D's and I was wondering is it possible to get all the LED's to work on the 4d?

If the LEDs are MIDI controllable then there is no reason why VDJ can't control them.

I don't think the problem lies with VDJ. Or even the LED's for that matter. The only way to get the LED's to work is to create a definition file and mapper for it and place them in the Devices and Mappers folders of VDJ. I tried creating a definition and mapper for the Xone 1D and it seems there is some confusion between VDJ and the Xone as to which midi messages does what. Some work but do something completley different to what they have been assigned to do. Most don't even work though.

It's a bit odd because the Xone works perfectly well on a simple midi mapper. I have contacted Allen & Heath about this and am awaiting a reply. I even submitted a ticket to VDJ support but I'm pretty sure it's not a VDJ software problem.

Anyways, I just wanna know if anyone out ther is using a Xone 4D with VD7
 
I have a couple of 1Ds I could try.

I've never connected them to VDJ but I can have a mess around if it helps....

Thanks, but I have no problem using the 1D's with VDJ using a simple midi wrapper. They work fine. It's when I try to create a definition file and mapper for them when the problems start. The reason that I want them with a definition file and mapper as opposed to just using a simple midi wrapper is that at the moment I am using a DDM4000 with them and that needs a definition and mapper in order for the LED's to work. And I cannot merge the definition file and mapper for the DDM with the simple midi wrapper for the Xones, so I must create a definition file and mapper for them too.

I'm kinda getting away from the point of this tread which is, does any one out there have a 4D running with VDJ7? I don't wanna spend that kind of money on something that won't run properly with my favourite dj software.
