Hello,
I’m new here.. please take be gentle!
I’ve downloaded the home version, I’ve only had it for a week and already considering making the purchase to the pro edition. I’ve been Vjing using Isadora for about 2 years and DJing with traktor for about 1 year, so naturally I want to combine the two and Virtual DJ seems by far the best option.
But before I do there’s a few questions. Would someone from the support team be able to answer my queries below?
I’m running it on a macbook pro, 13”, 8gb ram with snow leopard.
1 – Using the home edition I can’t tell if it’s possible to Map one MIDI control to two functions e.g One note button triggering an audio effect and a video effect?
Or one controller controlling the audio filter and a video equivalent?
2 – I’ve filtered the video effects plugins by Mac and this greatly reduces the results. Is the due to incorrect tagging, are there any more options? Any news of the freeframe plugins being available for macs?
3 - I’ve seen some murmurings on the forums of the videos going out of sync, is there a recommended codec / resolution / bit rate to use for both audio and video. For vjing I encode everything to photo jgeg.
I’m sure more might crop up, but will continue to test out the home edition for a bit. Many Thanks
Tom

1. Yes, you can map as many things to one control as you like, so you can trigger an audio and video effect at the same time.
2. There are far less video plugins for Mac I'm afraid. This is mainly because I don't own a Mac any more, so very few of mine are available on Mac.
3. Can't help here on the Mac side, but on the PC side I have no sync issues. Hopefully other Mac users will chime in.
