Got home unpackaged it, entered serial number and I'm now installing drivers.
Can't wait for a play.

Still trying to install it but it's not going well. One Question. Once i've got the drivers installed how do I make the home version of virtual DJ become the LE version?

Mine arrived after having to send my back for RMA 2 weeks ago. I love the fact that they send me a brand new one.

I can't get it working. I've downloaded latest drivers from the website and Install by running as administrator and I just get the DJ icon bottom right with a red X on it. I've got windows 7 64 bit.
I did install the driver from the disk originally but uninstalled it. I've been going round in circles since 8. Doesn't look like I'll be using it friday night at this rate.

Hopefully not because I've got all my virtual folders setup and don't really want to loose them.
I can't actually get the RMX installed anyway so it's irrelevant. It's going back tomorrow.

Had mine for a year now....and it is "rock solid". Well almost......it doesn't like static electricity to much. On cold days if I walk across the carpet to much and touch the RMX it goes haywire! Lights start flashing all crazy, sound goes in and out, and controls become non responsive. Heck one time I touched the Rmx with the computer off and it still went all crazy on me! LOL

Sorry for all the doom and gloom. Finally got it installed after 3 hours of jumping through hoops.
I've now installed virtual DJ 5 thats on the disk. How can i upgrade that to 7?
I've still got virtual DJ 7 home edition installed too.

The RMX comes with VirtualDJ v5 Console Edition.
If you would like to use a newer version than this, then you will need to upgrade to the full VirtualDJ Professional. The RMX entitles you to a significant discount off the full price of Pro: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
Home FREE does not support MIDI controllers (Except for a 10 minute trial of Pro features) - It is for non-commercial use only using your mouse and keyboard.
NOTE: You may need to install the latest drivers and firmware for the RMX to work with versions newer than v5: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common_Device_Drivers.html

I have an odd issue with mine. I must plug it in and wait til the RMX lights stop flashing before I start VirtualDJ. Otherwise, VDJ doesn't 'see' it and using the refresh doesn't work either. It maybe because I'm using Windows 7 bootcamped on an Apple Macbook Pro. It's no big deal for me, just have to remember the sequence and all is fine.

If I have to upgrade to PRO right now then I'm seriously Cheesed off. On the comparison page there is an LE version and that looks like version 7 LE. I can't afford to shell out another 100 quid this month after buying the RMX. I've been testing out version 7 home of virtual dj while deciding whether to buy or not and I love it. Why can't I use version 7 LE? Does Version 7 LE exist?

Is Virtual DJ 5.2 stable? I'm gigging friday and saturday and I've never used it as i've been trialing version 7.
If I use 5.2 on windows 7 64 bit am I going to have any problems?

its pretty stable if your just playing audio files,ie:mp3's of course u can play videos on the desktop (screen ) but they wont output.for this you must upgrade to vdj pro BUT hey at that point you can do pro level mixing, video scratchin & mixing ,download free effect plugins and different skins from this website, heck you cant go wrong, and still way cheaper than other softwares besides that right now vdj is cutting edge..think about it...you might want to wait till after this next gig so you have time to learn the tricks, and tweak it to your system and get them plugins downloaded and setup...

I fully intend to upgrade to pro It just wasn't going to be this month.
Thanks for the advice anyway. Still can't wait to have a good play with the Hercules RMX.
