Hi,
Got VDJ pro 7 and with an external HD connected.
Search for a particular artist, knowing that i have several songs in a folder on HD, its unable to find the songs. Although it does find them if i manual click on every individual folder, but this is what the software should be doing???

You will need to add the music to your VirtualDJ database.
To do this, use the VirtualDJ browser to browse to the drive(s) and/or folder(s) where the music is located, right-click on each folder and choose Add to search DB.
NOTE: If the external drive is formatted for PC NTFS, then Mac will not be able to write to it and VirtualDJ will not be able to save its database (You will need to do the above each time you use it, and all comments, BPM, etc. will be lost.) To use a drive between PC and Mac, you will need to reformat it to FAT32 format (Backup the music on it first.)

There are several other posts on this same subject, but other than tell us that VDJ doesn't recursively parse through the folders to find music in the Mac, VDJ support has been mum on this issue. I'd like to know if and when they plan to fix this issue.
I agree that you should be able to add your external drive to the database, and have VDJ find all songs on that drive, even in folders and sub folders. That's how Traktor works, so obviously it can be done.
