Topic: Which Virtual DJ Controller???

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

In advance, I want to appologize for the long-winded post. however, I just want to be as detailed as possible..... I work full-time doing mostly weddings... I am currently using CD's... I have been waiting for "the dust to settle" hoping that there would be a clear winner to rise above the crowd in the way of a controller... However, that doesn't seem to be happening... I thought it was going to be the Denon MC6000, however, I've been doing some research and see that it's not as perfect as I thought it would be... I was at the Atlantic City EXPO this past August and the only thing I know for sure is that I want to go with Virtual DJ software... I need a controller... What I liked about the MC6000 was that is was also a mixer and can control my computer, 2 mics and a CD player (like the Numark CDN450)... I know that the MC6000 does not have a display for the CD player so I would need a CD controller too.... does any other unit do what the MC6000 can do?... the MC6000 was also rack mountable which is nice...

I was going to put the MC6000 and CD/MP3 controller on top of the slant rack... However, I'm not sure there is a slant rack deep enough to fit both the MC6000 and CD controller on the top slant rack and the dual cd player in a 2u rack below.... If I did this I would have it all bases covered in one rack...... However I see that if I use the MC6000 as my main mixer and it freezes up, I would have to shut everything down and restart it... rendering my CD player and mic's useless until I reboot it.... that would grind my wedding to a halt and I don't want that!.... I can always keep a dual CD player in a small rack next to the new controller, but that is taking up more table space than I'm using now... I want it to be smaller and simpler, not bigger and more difficult... that's another reason I haven't switched over yet... my CD setup takes 5 minutes.... adding a laptop and controller to that will more than double my setup time... I thought that bringing in one rack with everything hard-wired in it would not add much time to setting up and would free up some table space as well... having to bring in 2 racks, (1) laptop and controller and (2) Dual CD player.... would doouble the table space needed and set-up time...

I want to be able to use a laptop but mix-in CD's from time to time if/when needed (at least in the beginning while I am familiarizing myself with computer based mixing)... I could even plug everything into a Mackie mixer to run everything (computer controller, CD player, mics, etc.)... taking up even more table space..... I thought the MC6000 would simplify that for me.... I'm not so sure now....

I've also been thinking about these other units: Hercules RMX, Hercules 4MX, Allen & Heath Xone DX, Numark NDX400, NDX800, and Mixdeck... I do want something that works well with Virtual DJ software...

I would not start out doing video but would like to leave my options open for video in the future.... video is not a deal breaker at this point... I would like to have it but can always upgrade to another unit that does video in the future if I don't get it now.... I know the Numark MixDeck does not do video... I would rather stay away from that anyway... I would love to hear what you think is the best controller for someone like me... doing mainly weddings and not a lot of scratching... I'm looking forward to seeing what comes up here!
