Topic: Numark Mixtrack Pro with motherboard onboard sound?

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hello,

Recently finally was able to find a place that had the Numark Mixtrack Pro in stock, so i was finally able to grab it!

So I've been trying to figure out how to set it up. I've tried almost every combination in the VDJ configuration, including using ASIO4all drivers, but I cannot get the headphone cue (off the front of the device) to work. When I do get it to work, the master out, which I am using my computer speakers for (which the mixtrack is communicating through the USB to the computer) does not work. I'm wondering if using motherboard onboard sound isn't working as my second "sound card." I know the pro unit already has it's own built in sound card, and this question may be dumb, but does the second sound card (the one that would be inside the computer) NEED to be a dedicated sound card and not just motherboard on board sound?

Thanks in advance!

MixTrack Pro has its own built-in sound card.

In VirtualDJ LE, you can only use the sound card built into the MixTrack Pro. Plug your headphones into the headphone socket of the MixTrack, and a pair of stereo speakers into the master outputs on the back of the console.

Or if you wish to have sound through your computer's own speakers, connect a suitable cable (2x RCA phono to 3.5 headphone jack) from the master outputs to the line input of your computer.

NOTE: VirtualDJ LE is limited software and only supports using the sound card built into the MixTrack Pro.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to setting up to a computer. Prior to this (years ago) I had CDJs which was pretty straight forward to set up. Now I do not have stereo speakers and intend to use my 2.1 speaker set up for my computer to be the master out, and using headphones to cue.

So looking at the back of the Mixtrack Pro, there are 2 sets of RCA and a USB plug. When you specified 2x RCA to 3.5mm, did you mean to have 2 physical cables, which would then output to 2x 3.5mm? or is there a plug that has 2x RCA (2 white, 2 red) that combines into a single 3.5mm? I am currently using onboard motherboard sound (realtek blah blah), but if I need a dedicated soundcard, like an audiophile24/96 or something cheaper, like a low end creative soundblaster, I could get that too.

You will need 2x RCA phono (red+white plugs) to 3.5 jack cable like the following: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41HA6KYDENL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

You do not need another sound card because MixTrack Pro already has one built-in for DJ'ing with master output + headphones.

Plug the red/white phono plugs into the master outputs on the back of the MixTrack and connect the 3.5 jack to the line input of your computer's sound card (Usually a blue socket.)

NOTE: As above, VirtualDJ LE does not support using any other sound card except the one built into the MixTrack Pro. To be able to use other sound cards, you would need to upgrade to the full VirtualDJ Professional at a discount (Assuming your MixTrack came with VirtualDJ LE): http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

Make sure that the line input is actually enabled in your computer's mixer/sound card control panel. By default it may not be.

Click on the speaker icon in the bottom-right of the Windows task bar and there should be a link to open the mixer.

In Windows 7, double-click on Speakers in the Volume Mixer panel. You should then be able to adjust the volume of the line in and enable/disable it.

Hello again,

I feel so stupid. I did everything you said and at first it did not work, but my computer's onboard sound by default, as you mentioned had the line-in volume at 0. There are two bars and one of them is for recording and one is for playback, and I mistakenly (without reading) assumed the top bar was playback (which was not set to zero) and the bottom one was recording, but it was the other way around.

Thanks so much! Can finally play with VDJ!
