I have a choice of buying a rane empath (blue) a numark dxm 09 or a numark x6. Which is the best of the lot?? I'm an aspiring dj with little experience so id appreciate a tiny bit on y the choice plz! Thnx in advance!

Differens between DMX09 and X6 is that DMX09 is a three channel mixer. DMX09 is discounted and its called X9 today. Same mixer different colours. Non of them can contrl VDJ you will ned a 5.1 soundcard or a Maya 44, Hercules Deejay trim etc and VDJ PRO for using the external mixer mode.

ok, so i should stay away from the empath??? and i can still use all of the capabilities of the mixer without connecting it to VDJ right?? im prolly gettin either ndx800's or dns1200's so which would work better with them??

Of the three you have listed, the Rane Empath is the BEST. By FAR the best.

well here's what happened with the empath:
I went to the guy who was selling it and i asked him to try it out. he seemed reluctant, but he plugged in all the stuff necessary. And then the mixer just wouldnt go. he tried all the possible configurations, but nothing. so i asked him if i could take out the crossfader to see if it was that, and when i did. there was a lot of sticky stuff around it. he told me he didnt know what happened, that it had been workin perfectly last week, blah blah blah... so i eneded up not getting it. it sucks becasue it did seem really sweet, but oh well.
On a better note, i ended up buying a pair of denon 1200's which came with the dnx120 mixer (i kno 2 channel, but ill upgrade soon after i get them i hope) and a hard travel case. All for $750. good price?
