Hi there . i have a white 13`` late 2008 macbook with 2.1ghz cpu , 500gig 7200rpm hdd , 4gb ram , shitty nvidia 128mb graphics running on bootcamp . My first question is , would this pc be enough for video mixing ? im not keen on doing fancy effects clips etc , i will only mix extended video mixes i made myself with simple transitions .
my second question is , i play in a club which has a L63AB A/V source selector connected to 2 lcd tvs and a projector , and that source selector has composite/s-video and scart inputs . I bought a mini dvi to vga converter , and routed that into a kworld pc to vga converter i bought from maplins . When i try routing the s-video out from the converter to the source selector i only get a black screen and when i use the composite out its very blurry . Am i doing something wrong ? i have a feeling that i've bought a crap converter , should i buy a better converter ?

One more question , Im planning to sell my macbook and get a laptop with 8gig ram and a decent graphics adapter , i want one with hdmi out but as far as i know most clubs use composite video , is it possible to get a hdmi to composite converter or something ? or should i just buy one with s-video out .

You don't need HDMI converter because any laptop has VGA out (on Mac with adapter). So you just need quality VGA to composite converter. Looks like you have a bad converter right now.

just bought a dell xps 15 i7 laptop which has a hdmi and mini displayport out . i used a mini dvi to vga adapter with kworld vga to composite converter i bought from maplin . whatever resolution i tried its very blurry . i tried playing the same video file on the laptop and the dvd player which has usb option , and the laptops quality is nowhere near the dvd player . does this mean my vga to composite adapter is rubbish , or this is the best quality i can get by using composite ? the dvd player is also connected to the same a/v source selecter via composite but the difference is huge ! or should i just use a hdmi to composite converter ?
Any help will be appreciated .

I'm almost sure its a shabby converter. I use an older model of this:
http://www.aitech.com/products/maxview.htm

The quality is great (for composite). At least it should be the same as DVD player.
You should send 800x600 or 1024x768 signal from computer.
