Funny thing happened several times.
At the start of VDJ my database is gone.
So, I can no longer find songs in the database.
I can fix this using FIX.
But, why is this happening???

ok are you renaming or moving files outside vdj if so do a clean and fix and add your files to search database again.
now you will have a new vdj xml file in your documents...vdj ect.when you then make changes WITHIN VDJ the xml will update automatically.
always save a copy on flashdrive when you up date incase youe do something wrong.
alway rename ec t within vdj or from scratch move and rename all files outside vdj the add to search database hope this helps

This could be the solution.
We have several disks we use.
First a NAS which is included in the search DB.
Then, we use USB sticks which are not added to the search DB.
I will look into this.
Thanks!

I had this problem back in the days when i was using my laptop with a external hard drive. Windows would detect the HDD but sometimes give it a different Drive letter, that messed up my library at the time.
Now I always boot my laptop with everyting pluged kin and powered on so that the detection is always the same. Never had the problem again.
Again backing up your XML file is a VERY good idea!
Hope this helps!

I'm totally new to the whole dj scene and have a question regaring music to dj with......Is it accepted or prper "dj ettiquete" to play and mix with other dj's mixes? Say for example a Tiesto cd or a Paul Oakenfold cd, or does your music need to be something no other dj has used, or remixed?.....thanks guys......

Newbie here.
Where is the xml file you recommend backing up? All that does is take you to where the actual track is located on the hard drive, correct?
