Topic: What Hardware to Buy?

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Newbie who wants to buy DJ console, but needs help deciding which console to buy.

I narrowed it down to 3 consoles.

- HERCULES DJ CONSOLE 4-MX
- DENON DN-MC6000
- NUMARK MIXDECK

Though price is not a big factor, I really want a console that gives most for my money, a console that has a easy learning factor, sturdy, and reliable. Please help this wannabe DJ. Thanks in advance.

I personaly would prefere the Denon MC-6000.

Greets, Heiko

+1

of those 3 denon for sure

I have had the MC6000 for a few months now and I absolutely love it. It's literally like having two (or four) denon decks and a denon mixer, plus all the effects and midi capabilities you can think of with VDJ. Amazing unit.

I have the VMS4 and I absolutely love it. There are some people complaining about it having a bit low output but I've actually had a club manager come and ask me to turn it a bit down. So if hocked up to a PA there should be not issue. Anyway I haven't tried the other mentioned in first post but the denon just seams right.

One of these things is not like the other.......

You have 2 4-deck midi controllers and 1 2-deck controller with 2 cd-decks and an I-pod dock. Very different animals depending on what you want to do. If you really need 4-midi decks choose between those two. If you can deal with just 2 midi decks in VDJ (what most people use) and want a built in back-up system with CD's or want to be able to CDJ without a laptop the Mixdeck is your choice.

I have the Mixdeck and really like it - it is significantly bigger than the other 2 but the built in cd backup is more than worth it.

Except that the Denon has RCA inputs and can act like an external mixer. It also has strictly 2-deck operation, which is how most people use it. So if you wanted to, you could hook up CD decks, or turntables, or an ipod, or whatever you wanted to all 4 of its lines, or you could use it as a 4 deck controller, or a 2-deck controller. Plus all the effects and cue points are on the hardware, so you don't have to click with the mouse at all. You can use the hardware for everything in VDJ that you see on screen.

Oh, and since I have bought it I have never used the 4-deck mode on my Denon MC6000. I always use the 2-deck mode, so you really have to throw the Denon in comparison with both the 4-deck midi controllers AND the 2-deck controllers, since it has modes for both.

Thanks for pointing out those details, never used the Denon or hercules. My point was that the Numark is the only one with CDJs built in and that physically it is a lot bigger and heavier which is a problem for some guys that like to travel light with just a midi mixer and a laptop in a backpack. The mixdeck also has a pair of phono inputs you can hook up turntables or other inputs to. I was just curious why 2 seemingly very similar controllers are being compared to a seemingly quite different piece of equipment. They are similar in price but other than that the numark fills a different niche that the other 2.

Out of the controllers listed the Denon looks like the best option, although the new Pioneer controller wasn't listed which also looks smart.
