Topic: Piano noise through soundcard since adding MIDI controller definition

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

It works fine on my Mac but I've just added the definition and mapping to a windows machine and I get this piano chiming noise (sounds like a MIDI voice). This only happens when VDJ is running and the sound. Telling it not to look for MIDI controllers solves the problem.
Problem is I want to use the Controller and this loop in the background seems to be hogging the system a little.

Only reason I need to do this is my Mac had a little accident this week and I need a new backup solution until it is repaired.
Gigging tomorrow night (Saturday) so hoping for a quick fix.

Thanks in advance as usual.

Ross

This will be because you are using a definition that has no identification methods specified for VirtualDJ to be able to identify the controller (sysexid, drivername or vid/pid)

A definition like this will be applied to all unrecognised MIDI devices, including the MIDI synthesizer of your sound card, if it has one. The LED's turning on/off will send MIDI notes, triggering the appropriate musical notes.

The solution is either to add an appropriate method of identification to the definition (See http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/ControllerDefinitionMIDI.html ) or mute the MIDI output of your sound card in the Windows control panel.
