Topic: M-Audio Torq Xponent Build Quality

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying an Xponent but I'm concerned about the built quality. It looks very plasticy. I wanted to know:

1) What is it made of? plastic or metal?
2) Have you had any problems with one, such as hardware failures?

Is it worth $350-450?

Thanks :)

EDIT: Also, I'm new on this forum, so if this is in the wrong place could you please redirect me. AND, if you have any other controller suggestions within $500 what would you recommend?

Yes, the controller is very plasticy but I think its very well laid out for Virtual DJ, there's basically a button or knob for all your basic VDJ functions. One thing I hate to do is to use a shift key to access a control and with the xponent theres no need to do that.
The contoller is nice and big, with lots of buttons and knobs giving you plenty of space to operate. I also love how all the buttons light up, this comes in very handy when working in dark environments.
If I didn't know it was designed to work for Torq I would have assumed it was designed to work with Virtual DJ since the layout just works great with Virtual DJ. Don't pay the full new price, there's plenty of them for sale used for half the price! Unless your one of those people who must have a factory warranty.

I would recommend the controllers to others. Just make sure you get the road case for it because im pretty sure you will break the damn thing if you drop it.

Or you could always check out the Numark MixDeck. It's an all in one and for the money it offers a lot. I have one and love it.

Thanks for the help guys, I like the sound of the all-in-one systems but I have no idea what is decent quality or price. I am a beginner and am still at a budget of $500. I might be able to go a little over though. So any ideas about all in one systems, or a cheap, complete set up ( I was looking at the iCD DJ in a box, but it cant scratch)
