Topic: NS7 Crossfader Video Only

Hi all,

I'm still fairly new to VDJ, but I've got it set up with my NS7 to do video quite nicely.

Question - How can I set it up so that the crossfader affects the video only? I'd like to control the audio with the up/down faders, and the video with the crossfader.

The easiest way is to go to CONFIG -> Options and set the crossfader to disabled.

Make sure that you have it linked to the video crossfader in CONFIG -> Video and it will now control the video crossfader only.

Alternatively, you can change the mapping for CROSSFADER in CONFIG -> Mappers -> Numark NS7 to video_crossfader instead of crossfader.

Thanks for this, works perfectly with the first method. However for some reason, the program won't save the Crossfader: Disabled setting. It keeps reverting back to "User" when I restart the VDJ. Am I missing something?

If the NS7 has a crossfader curve knob, then this may be sending its current position to VirtualDJ at start-up, forcing the crossfader back to the appropriate user setting.

To check, go to CONFIG -> Mappers -> NS7 and look for the mapping crossfader_curve and change it to: crossfader_curve "disabled"

Alternatively, change the crossfader mapping to video crossfader as above. The crossfader will then always act as a video crossfader only.
