i am getting my JBL LSR4328P'S today
so if i disappear for 3 weeks , i'm just re-listening 2 all my faves .....on some real speakers
aaaahhhhh to hear S.O.B , or Johnny Lang or Jimi (esp. R U Experienced) in exquisite detail .....
a l'il (i hate that) Brubeck , or Mahavishnu
a touch of Tony Bennett or The Voice never did any harm......
i'm just referencing some old things that i like......
for you young wimps S.O.B. is Switched On Bach ......
The Voice is Frank Sinatra .....
actually Frank invented electricity
making it possible for Elvis to invent the Electric Guitar .....
then Ozzy invented Rock .....
that's the timeline

i got 'em at Sam Ash
i enjoy previewing headphones and speakers
i wanted to audition some lesser speakers but Ted my salesman said check these out
they're the big bro to the ones i have .....
he seemed to like real musicians ...... who could like play like .......
when i walked in there was some kinda cool Mark Knopfler playing ....
that i know i don't have.....
so i was receptive to listening to something he recommended since he
seemed to be into good stuff......
when i mentioned to him some of my preferred tracks to audition speakers with
he definitely seemed to be familiar with some so we started the arduous task.......
this is what i use for what it's worth.....
these trax are very different from each other , they are in different genres and from different era's
this is not the running order
i try to prep anything new for success ,and give it every chance to succeed , so ....
play first that which will get you in a good mood that particular moment
if studio reference monitors try to find how big or small the sweet spot is and listen there
"Again" Lenny Kravitz .....
"Learning to Fly " Tom Petty ....
these 2 are my normal music feel good faves
next up
abbie normal trax .....
"Alaska" U.K. this is a live concert track .... crank it , show no mercy if you can't get this
substitute "Human" by Human League
"I Just Want You" Ozzy ...... take no prisoners
now to break up the heaviness .....
"Statesboro Blues" Allman Bro's
now to get extra weird .....
i insist these are great trax
to me
"Strange Meadowlark" Dave Brubeck Quartet (originally on "Time Out")
"Take Five" DBQ again from "Time Out" album
OR the live version on the album "Adventures in Time".......i don't care who ya are , that's some playin' on .......
"Vital Transformation" Mahavishnu Orchestra .... everyone should have at least one
song in their library with tambourine playing 9/8 .......
"Resolution" Mahavishnu
"Sinfonia to cantata 29 " Wendy Carlos , from the original Switched On Bach album
in the liner notes i believe it was described as "the sound of triumphant affirmation"
Bach rocks a cover .........
"Every Little Thing She Does" The Beatles
"The End" The Beatles .... and a bright sunrise dawns on a new day .......
those are not all my faves , but they are many of my best audio testing bits

hey Charlie
i am loving these
220 watts per side
you would expect the lows to be gutsy and they are , but the highs are super smooth
and never harsh
i gotta get me a mini plug (male) to 2 female xlr and i could run str8 out .....
also if i disconnect the RMX and use my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra for the soundcard , the audio quality
is really gr8
next on my shopping list .....
Sony Vegas
a better mixer
parametric ( or semi ) eq box (not software) tube if i can afford it .....
Blue Microphones just dropped the price on the "baby" bottle down to $400

Hey Chuck, I use four of these and LOVE THEM. They have a separate out for sub, eliminating the need for a crossover, a real nice FBQ (helps detect and eliminate feedback) and fit in one RU space. Also, an alternative to the Baby Bottle (which I want also) is one of these. Nice sounding mic across the board. It is the same mic I use to record our podcast ( http://mikeleeandterrymartin.libsyn.com/webpage) with. The bonus here is, total cost for both, under 300 USD.
