Topic: Problems losing sound

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hello, i have an audio 8 dj with drivers 2.0.15 and windows 7. I mix using vdj 7.0.4.

I have some trouble djing. 4 or 5 times along the night the sound goes away ( vdj still running a song, but you cant hear anything). I ran audio 8 with medium latency. I have to restart vdj to work.

What do you think the error came from ? Perhap latency ( set to high), drivers ( another version) or i read to have a hub usb with its own energy.

Any help would be apreciated

Thanks in advance

My spces:

Amd Athlon +5200 x2
4 gb ram
nvidia gtx 550 ti 1gb
Windows 7
Audio 8 dj with 2.0.15 drives and latency medium.
Virtualdj 7.0.4

Sounds like your USB shutting down. On your computer go to "device manager", go to the very bottom and you will see all the USB root hubs, double click on each one and open the properties box, go to power management, UNCHECK the box that allows it to turn off USBs to conserve power. This should solve your problem.

Rusty, thanks... but i have a desktop Pc and the audio 8 is connected directly to one usb port ( not any hub, directly to one of the motherboard usb's).

I have already done that. Tonight id try to set latency from medium latency to high latency and see what happens.

In other posts ive read that perhaps the usb port dont receive enough power and people have bought and usb hub with its own power supply.

I dont know if the problem is related with power supply, drivers or latency settings.

Thanks

Use an older driver, the new beta ones are crap, can't remember which one I'm using but just try them out until you find one that works

another clue: when the sound goes away... if you go to settings -> audio and click apply i recover the sound and the song
continues as nothing happened....

Any help ? Thanks. im using drivers 2.0.15

More clues:

1 - I have tried two different driver versions 2.0.15 y 2.0.10... same losing sound.

2 - I have set the maximum latency: 12 ms usb buffer size and 64 ms audio buffer size.

3 - When i loose the sound i go to config -> sound setup and with the same configuration y click on apply and the sound "returns".

No error message or crash or anything.

I use also a usb mouse ( optical).

Perhaps i need a powered usb hub ? Its like sound is gone and click on sound set up apply and the sound returns....

Any help would be apreciated.

Happens 3 to 5 times every night, very annoying.

Thanks in advance

I just updated to VDJ 7.0.4.0, Now the custom midi mapping for my VMS4 is gone, and Virtual DJ has prevented me from remapping the layout as the unit was originally mapped. six months of practice with the VMS4 and a day before a big gig you expect to be comfortable with a new layout. oh did I mention that I cant find the older version of VJD to restore it. I am trying an older restore point now. wish me luck, and VDJ, jump on in any time to help me with this issue.

You should probably start your own thread so you can get other vms4 users attention, but if the vms4 had vdj le and you registered that software it will be in your download center just under your name at the top left of this page, other than that you can just use action learn in the mapper to get the basic functions sorted the same or try dj dads vms4 mapper which people have said great things about http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/12221/American_Audio_VMS4_Pro_Full.html
