Hey Everybody,
I have written posts similar to this in the past, so I am sorry if I am bothering anyone. I recently accepted a job at Boeing in Seattle and will be moving there late July. I am wondering if anyone has any connections or insights as to how to get booked at a club or two there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Alex

Alex,
I live in Seattle, in fact only about a couple miles from downtown....Network with the club operators, especially anyone in a booking capacity. Study the club ads in the following two arts related newspapers: 1) The Weekly, and 2) The Stranger. You will see much in the way of bars, venues and clubs. But I will warn you, the dance music scene in Seattle is much to be desired. A lot of the young folks are brainwashed by the jukebox radio/top 40 agenda. So if Top 40 is your game, there's quite a number of places to check out. (For myself, I hate the top 40 scene in Seattle, and am glad to pass on it.)

Hi Rick,
I am definitely a Top-40 guy (frat parties and college bars are really where I shine), so that seems like it will work fine for my needs! I will be sure to check out these ads. You think that I should just contact the clubs saying that I'm a DJ? I have had little luck (none in fact) with doing that in the past, but maybe Seattle is different!
Thanks again for the help and advice. If I get a gig somewhere, I'll be sure to let you and the rest of the community know!

I also live in Seattle area, we have a group on FB called Northwest DJs and I know there are some club/bar DJs on there that might be able to help you with some connections. Clubs/bars are not my cup of tea but there are plenty of guys in that group that do it.
