I'm looking to upgrade from my current Hercules RMX but kept it around for a backup and maybe smaller gigs. I do not want to switch from Virtual DJ as I have come to love it. What would the professional community suggest my next purchase is? I have looked at Numark, Denon, and a few others.
Suggestions???

I am in the same position as you, I have a Hercules RMX and I really like VDJ, but i want to upgrade.
Here are some things you have to know before bying your next equipment:
Do you want to use CD's?
Do you want to use vinyls as timecodes?
Do you want to keep the midi function your RMX offers you?
Small and portable?
Big like cdj's or technics?
I really like how portable the rmx is and I prefer way more using the midi functions with Virtual DJ instead of carrying all the cd's or vinyls.
I have been looking in internet a lot of reviews and only 1 really convinced me that it would be a great buy and that it should be my next equipment, it is portable, midi functions, 4 channels, works as a mixer by itself, etc.
Im talking about the Denon MC-6000, you should check some videos on youtube and some info about it because i really think its awesome and pro level.
I hope i get mine as soon as possible!

I have looked at that mixer as well. Its right up there on the top of my list. I do not want to carry CD's or Vinyl, I want the portability as well. MacBook and Mixer is all I need to take (along with a couple Dicer units). Thanks for the input!
any other suggestions?
I have also been really looking at the Denon DN-SC2000 MIDI Controller as well.

Being that you want to keep VDJ, I would suggest you stay with the RMX, but simply add some CDJ's like the Numarks ndx800 or turntables Numarks TT200's and get some timecodes. Which I'm in the process of doing myself right now, because although I love my RMX, I'm personally one who prefers my turntables. The RMX has a great sound card and with the right power amp & speaker, you can get one awesome sound.
However, if you want to stay on the console side, then go one step above to the 4mx or AMERICAN AUDIO VMS4 to me the perfect analog mixer, my personal favorite in the NS7 even if it does weight a ton, it's worth the investment if your budget allows it.
Just my opinion!

Only with RMX you got no backup system. But anyways, he wants to upgrade.
So I would say take a look at American Audio VMS4 or Denon DN-MC6000.
Or you use to go the other way: Pioneer or Denon Mixer with MIDI-Support and TT's or CD.

I would if you wanna keep cds go with a Numark Mixdeck. I love it and so far its been flawless with VDJ! I only have 2 complaints,
1. You cant scratch in MIDI. Well some basic scratches but nothing to serious.
2. Since the mixer isn't MIDI the crossfader won't work for video. But I have mapped a spare knob for that and Everythings all good.
But Numark has answered my prayers and will be releasing a 4 channel MixDeck. The mixer section on this will be MIDI/anolog which means the crossfader will be MIDI, yay!!

Enjoy and good luck, cause there tons of controllers out there,

Thanks all for your input. I am really liking the Denon MC6000 after about 4 hours of reviews and videos last night. I like a lot of the things it can do. 4 Channels is one feature that I really like. I will check out some of the others listed here as well.

Okay, The war looks like its going to be on with the MC6000 and the new Numark NS6. I like everything I see with the NS6 and this is going to be a toss up I think.
Thoughts on these two controllers?

Damn, now I want a NS6... I like the fact it looks a bit broader than the mc6000. Is it or just the picture angles?
Either way looks like my RMX is going back in the box...

Yeah it does look bigger but that NS6 is SWEEEET! I think I'm going to wait until June 6 and go play around with it before I make a decision on what to do. I'm thinking at this moment NS6!!
