I recently purchased technics sl 1200 mk2\'s to get the old feel of things. I have an SL-1 sound card and I am of course running VDJ. I ran each cable, left and right from phono on the mixer (Q-D6) to the outputs thru on the SL-1. I then ran each Technics cable to the inputs 1 & 2. In Configuration TImecodes are 2, under settings vinyl is serato vinyl cv02 a and b, External mixer and SL-1 for sound card. I have phone level checked. On the mixer the phono side is on as well.

When I press play with either side I get a loud constant tone. The timecode setting
show a as a straight horizontal line Quality 1%, side b is a blurry circle quality 100%
I have checked to ensure that all of the cables are tight and placed as I stated above.
Hopefully you guys have a simple answer.

Change em from "thru" on the SL1 to "line" then switch it on your mixer. You use the thru if your gonna use real vinyl. Also switch the lines on your mixer aswell. Hook em up to line on the mixer. If you wanna use real records in your set, just run your wires phono from the box to phono on the mixer and line on the box to line on the mixer. When using VDJ have your mixer set to line, when you wanna use vinyl switch it on your mixer to phono. Or you can just hit "timecode bypass with in Virtualdj and slap on a real record, leaving it on line.

Hope that makes sense
Let me if that helps

Yes huey that does make sense but should this apply when I am using Serato timecode vinyl as well?

Yeah you'd hook it up the same way. I think Serato has a bypass button aswell now also. Basically forget that "thru" is even there. You really don't need it anymore now that there are timecode bypass buttons in the programs. My SL3 doesn't even have thru's on it.

If you need anything else just holla, respect

Huey,
That was exactly what I needed. I have sound!! one more issue though. The left side is not getting 100% and when i touch the record to hold it, the song continues to move. Here are some pics. In the manual it says that the line describes my right side not getting a signal, check the cords or the needle. The needle is brand new and the cords are tight, as you can see the right side is playing fine. Thanks again

Are you using the Serato B side? That's what you have choosen in your pictures.

Huey

Edit, turn up your "silence" knobs just a little bit more and see what happens. Let me know......

@ Huey yes I am using the Serato B side. I switched to the A side and I get the same issue. When I turn up the silence knobs, I get no music, that's why I have them turned all the way down.

@ Heiko, I am using line because the phono input provides a loud tone. I've checked the cables and they are all tight.

Thanks Guys
