Hello All,

I'm a new dj and I recently bought the Numark mixtrack. This controller does not have a headphone jack, microphone, nor a speaker one. Any recommendations on what I should do???????

I think you will need to get the pro version of that mixer....

the problem is that I cant return it.

Get a small mixer and use it for Mic and Headphones.

You can't use a mixer as you cant get the sound out of your computer properly without a soundcard, So you should buy a 2 channel soundcard eg NI Audio 2, numark dj io. Don't worry about spending extra on a soundcard, If you buy an Audio 2 you will have a better setup than anyone with a mixtrack pro because you will have better sound and be able to run on lower latency. You do need to upgrade VDJ to pro though so you can use a soundcard.

All you need is this,

Then use your port on your laptop for cueing and use the BEHRINGER to run out to you sound system.

Enjoy
Huey

That's why you need to buy from a large music stores like Guitar Center and others, and always check the return policy before you buy, I would email the mfg and explain your situation, you'd be surprise sometimes they will help you resolve an issue like yours...

Good Luck,

Joey....

this puzzles me, why buy one of those rather expensive behringer cards, when you can buy an basic usb soundcard for as little as £1.45 off ebay? which works just as good.

on top of that, for the price your gonna pay for the usb card shown above, you can go out and buy a pair of Numark PHX USB headphones, which you "dont" need a seperate soundcard for as they plug in direct to your usb. they also come with a spare lead that allows you to connect to 3.5 + 6mm jacks...

Um... SOUND QUALITY (frequency range, Db output, distortion), BUILD QUALITY, ASIO, LATENCY, TECH SUPPORT, SOFTWARE SUPPORT, DRIVER UPDATES, WARRANTY, CONNECTIONS, OPTIONAL MIDI IN AND OUT... and your probably not supporting third world exploitation (sorry to get political)

There is no contest in my mind and if you cant afford $100-$150 to spend on a basic Audio 2 to have the most valuable improvement you can have as a dj, you should maybe consider another hobby, because this one costs a sh#t load of money... :P

Also those headphones are a budget solution for "hobby" dj's, I have never used them but I can guarantee they would not have a loud or clear enough output for using in a club, the reason headphones cost $300-$400 is because the are great quality (your eardrums will blow before the speakers do) and will usually last a couple of years with constant abuse, then you have superglue and duct tape for when the headband inevitably snaps LOL
