Topic: Help Mapping an Implicit Param

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I need help mapping an implicit parameter I want to set up on a knob.

I assigned the script given on the tutorial to control the loop length on my knob, it works great on my left knob to my left deck; but when I try to set the command to my right deck, with a different knob, it won't work.

I tried <b>deck 2 </b> loop ? param_smaller 12% ? loop 0.125 ? nothing : loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? loop 0.25 ? nothing : loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? loop 0.5 ? nothing : loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? loop 1 ? nothing : loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? loop 2 ? nothing : loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? loop 4 ? nothing : loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? loop 8 ? nothing : loop 8 : loop 16 ? nothing : loop 16 : nothing

but that controls the left deck as well; so now i have to knobs controlling the same deck's loop

oh btw i didn't set a specific deck to command my left deck but it still does.

try this

device_side 'left' ? loop ? param_smaller 12% ? loop 0.125 ? nothing : loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? loop 0.25 ? nothing : loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? loop 0.5 ? nothing : loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? loop 1 ? nothing : loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? loop 2 ? nothing : loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? loop 4 ? nothing : loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? loop 8 ? nothing : loop 8 : loop 16 ? nothing : loop 16 : nothing : loop ? param_smaller 12% ? loop 0.125 ? nothing : loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? loop 0.25 ? nothing : loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? loop 0.5 ? nothing : loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? loop 1 ? nothing : loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? loop 2 ? nothing : loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? loop 4 ? nothing : loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? loop 8 ? nothing : loop 8 : loop 16 ? nothing : loop 16 : nothing

If that doesn't work try these (decks must be playing)

device_side 'left ? param_greater 0% ? loop 4 : loop_exit : param_greater 0% ? loop 4 : loop_exit

device_side 'left ? param_greater 0% ? deck 1 loop 4 : deck 1 loop_exit : param_greater 0% ? deck 2 loop 4 : deck 2 loop_exit

let me know if it either work and which one

Well this is odd, today when I started only the RIGHT side loop was working with both knobs under the command w/o a specific location.

With the script "device_side 'left' ? " the knob doesn't control anything.

I did notice that if i add "device_side 'right' ? the right knob stops controlling the loop; however the left knob still being w/o a specific location controls the right side Loop.

I tried both commands you gave me and they control the deck on the RIGHT but they just flick loop 4 on and off as i twist it.

Why is it that the command "device_side 'left ? param_greater 0% ? loop 4 : loop_exit : param_greater 0% ? loop 4 : loop_exit"
controls the one on the right...?

...both commands work similarly, just flicking on and off as I twist at 4 loop and both control the loop on the Right Side.

Oh am I supposed to add the last two commands to the existing param?

Thanks for helping btw :)

yeah sorry it's because the script I wrote was wrong... try this

device_side 'left' ? param_smaller 12% ? deck 1 loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 1 loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 1 loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 1 loop 1 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 1 loop 2 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 1 loop 4 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 1 loop 8 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 8 : deck 1 loop 16 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 16 : deck 2 loop ? device_side 'right' ? param_smaller 12% ? deck 2 loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 2 loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 2 loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 2 loop 1 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 2 loop 2 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 2 loop 4 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 2 loop 8 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 8 : deck 2 loop 16 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 16 : nothing

:\ I copied the script and still no response to either deck's loop; the knob w/o a specific deck controls my right deck...

do you think it could be my controller?

Use this one

device_side 'left' ? deck 1 loop ? param_smaller 12% ? deck 1 loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 1 loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 1 loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 1 loop 1 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 1 loop 2 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 1 loop 4 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 1 loop 8 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 8 : deck 1 loop 16 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 16 : nothing : device_side 'right' ? deck 2 loop ? param_smaller 12% ? deck 2 loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 2 loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 2 loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 2 loop 1 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 2 loop 2 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 2 loop 4 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 2 loop 8 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 8 : deck 2 loop 16 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 16 : nothing : nothing

Nope same result... :(

what codes usually work for you guys?

geposted Mon 27 Jun 11 @ 6:22 pm
this works for a single sllider to control the deck in pfl, if you use "deck 1 loop & deck 1 select" "deck 2 loop & deck 2 select" for you loop button you will automatically have the looping deck in the pfl to make it a bit easier.

deck default loop ? param_smaller 12% ? deck default loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck default loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck default loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck default loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck default loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck default loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck default loop 1 ? nothing : deck default loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck default loop 2 ? nothing : deck default loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck default loop 4 ? nothing : deck default loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck default loop 8 ? nothing : deck default loop 8 : deck default loop 16 ? nothing : deck default loop 16 : nothing :

I just used this code

device_side 'left' ? action for left deck : action for right deck

I just counted the ? and : and I think I was short on the :'s

device_side 'left' ? deck 1 loop ? param_smaller 12% ? deck 1 loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 1 loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 1 loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 1 loop 1 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 1 loop 2 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 1 loop 4 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 1 loop 8 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 8 : deck 1 loop 16 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 16 : nothing : deck 2 loop ? param_smaller 12% ? deck 2 loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 2 loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 2 loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 2 loop 1 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 2 loop 2 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 2 loop 4 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 2 loop 8 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 8 : deck 2 loop 16 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 16 : nothing

I think we are getting some progress, I tried the code but its controlling my right side as well, however that is better than the previous codes that wouldn't do anything.

oh btw i tried the code on both an empty slider and the knob i want to control my left side loop, and i have the same result

geposted Mon 27 Jun 11 @ 7:09 pm
nah the deck assignments are correct... when you use key learn do you have two seperate CC numbers for the two sliders or just one?

try this and let me know

device_side 'left' ? pitch_slider : pitch_slider
need to know if this works

device_side 'left' ? deck 1 pitch_slider : deck 2 pitch_slider
or this

can you also open the definition file in the devices folder and make sure it says deck 1 & deck 2 after the midi definitions

I tried both and they only control the pitch on the right. I also changed the word left to right on the second command and the same pitch was moving...

where do i look for the definition file.. in my computer or vdj?

If you ment mappers option> deck assignment> I have Both...

i have some knobs set to deck 1's eq and they are working right...

oh and they have different cc's

thats what I needed :) you need to map the two different scripts

deck 1
deck 1 loop ? param_smaller 12% ? deck 1 loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 1 loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 1 loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 1 loop 1 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 1 loop 2 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 1 loop 4 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 1 loop 8 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 8 : deck 1 loop 16 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 16 : nothing :

deck 2
deck 2 loop ? param_smaller 12% ? deck 2 loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 2 loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 2 loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 2 loop 1 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 2 loop 2 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 2 loop 4 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 2 loop 8 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 8 : deck 2 loop 16 ? nothing : deck 2 loop 16 : nothing

no worries, but this one will be even better, it will show you the loop size even when not looping

deck 1
deck 1 loop ? param_smaller 12% ? deck 1 loop 0.125 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 1 loop 0.25 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 1 loop 0.5 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 1 loop 1 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 1 loop 2 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 1 loop 4 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 1 loop 8 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 8 : param_smaller 100% ? deck 1 loop 16 ? nothing : deck 1 loop 16 : nothing : param_smaller 12% ? deck 1 loop_select_select 0.125 ? nothing : deck 1 loop_select_select 0.125 : param_smaller 24% ? deck 1 loop_select 0.25 ? nothing : deck 1 loop_select 0.25 : param_smaller 36% ? deck 1 loop_select 0.5 ? nothing : deck 1 loop_select 0.5 : param_smaller 48% ? deck 1 loop_select 1 ? nothing : deck 1 loop_select_select 1 : param_smaller 60% ? deck 1 loop_select 2 ? nothing : deck 1 loop_select 2 : param_smaller 72% ? deck 1 loop_select 4 ? nothing : deck 1 loop_select 4 : param_smaller 84% ? deck 1 loop_select 8 ? nothing : deck 1 loop_select 8 : deck 1 loop_select 16 ? nothing : deck 1 loop_select 16

Help me out im doing the same thing, thanks for the move loop script and size of loop script. I need to get the effect active to work either on knob or button. i have done loop 8 on button but cant get effect to work. i understand the CC thing. I have a knob that also pushes down (different CC)

geposted Mon 27 Jun 11 @ 10:40 pm
I answered your other post, but now that you say it has a push button knob it seems like you have an endless encoder so use this instead, the other script is for an absolute knob, so it wont work

knob
param_greater 50% ? deck # effect "effect_name" slider # +1 : deck # effect "effect_name" slider # -1

button
deck # effect "effect_name" active
