hi guys have been using the free home addition for approx 6 months now and absolutley luv it, however i have just bought a midi controller(hercules mp3 e2) and with this got a copy of virtualdj le. on the home one, i could drag songs to the right of the screen and create a playlist and then automix this, i cant seem to find this on the LE version. also i much preffered the layout on the home version, can i download the skins for the le version or do you have to have pro??
one more thing, on some of my mp3 files i have renamed the files in my folders but when i open them in both virtual djs they come up as track 1, track 2 etc and it becomes difficult to find specific tracks, is there anyways of fixing this problem???

in LE there is a little arrow pointing left on the ver right edge of the browser, hover over this and the play list window will appear, it collapses again when you move off, unless you press the lock button on the bottom left corner of the box when it opens.
you dont need to downlod the skin, goto > documents > VirtualDJ > Skins. then copy the skin you want and paste it into the Vdj light folder which should be located an pretty much the same place. then select the skin you want from the config menu.
come to think of it, the skin should already be there.
how did you rename your tracks?
if you named them to track 1 etc, then that will be the name that shows up in vdj. for the name to show up if you have changed the names to track 1 etc, then your id3 tags need to be custoized with the track name, artist etc.
vdj relys a lot on id3 tags to help us correctly identify tracks. in the id3 there is info on artist, album, track no, year of release, genre, bpm, key tone etc.. th more info in the id3 the better info you will have in your vdj browser. maybe you changed the id3 tag and mistakenly named the tracks track 1 etc in the wrong box.

regarding the track listing i mean in windows i have changed the name from track 01, not to track 1 as this is how they ripped off the cds using media player so i changed the track name using windows, sorry if am not making sense :p could you explain more how to make these tags please!!.

check out this dandy little application, it's very useful for re-tagging mp3's and cleaning the file names... I love it.

u can even go to the list of the track in ur folder and right click, properties then details and you will c wer is track 1 and put in the apropriate song title

ah, i see, in this case, select all the tracks you changed, remove them from your database and then re scan, this should put everything right. once youve re scanned, recurse, then goto config > browser, then check clean and fix all databases.
that should put everything to top standards.
