You'll see that when a MIDI device is plugged in and doesn't have a definition file for it.

Any midi devices such as roland synth, drum-machine, yamaha, korg,... not natively supported by VDJ for DJing can be mapped and used to control VDJ buttons, knobs or faders. Most of these devices are connected via five (5) pin cable so you will need an adaptor to connect it to the USB input of your computer.
I use my Denon DN-X1600 five-pin midi-out (originally meant for Edirol- Roland Video Device), going through M-Audio UNO (the adaptor - midi to USB) then to computer's USB input.

Uhm...why don't you just plug your DN-X1600 directly to USB-bus? The device is perfectly capable of sending MIDI-out data via USB too, you know ;)
