heres more info if it helps.
i have a macbook that has one internal soundcard. i then went ahead and got that other usb soundcard that was in the first picture. i have my numark mixtrack plugged in through one usb port and in the other usb port i have a usb extension with four usb outlets as i cant plug in both my mixtrack and usb soundcard as the usb ports are to close together on my laptop. i have a cable running directly from my laptop to my speaker, and have my headphones plugged into the usb soundcard. from there one i am confused. i have done every configuration under vdj le and im not getting any sound from anywhere. again id appreciate any help

If you can use the 2 soundcard option insde the VDJ setting, it will work the following way.
Input none
Output - headphone
Soundcards - 2 Soundcards.
Beside:
First soundcard - Internal soundcard for Master output 1&2
Second soundcard - external usb soundcard - Headphones output 3&4
Input none
Output - headphone
Soundcards - 2 Soundcards.

First soundcard - Internal soundcard for Master output 1&2
Second soundcard - external usb soundcard - Headphones output 3&4

im not getting those options. so far it says
output: master second card/ headphones first card
then for soundcard it says
soundcard: gives me two options of built in output, or c-media usb headphone set.
sound is coming from the speaker, but when i press cue on my mixtrack nothing is coming from the headphones, both decks are coming out of my speakers.

Two options:
1) Setting 2 soundcards in VDJ as you've been trying so far. The configuration should be as follow:
Input none
Output - headphone > master first card/ headphones second card
Soundcards - 2 Soundcards. > 1st: Built-In Output (the Mac soundcard)
2nd: c-media usb headphone set
The main mix will be sent to your speakers via the mac soundcard, and the preview through the headphone.
2) Create an aggregate device (i.e. combine both so VDJ sees only one device)
This can be done in the following manner ( I will presume you are using OS X 10.6)
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3956
Once done, the configuration should be something like this:
Input none
Output - headphone > master Chan 1&2/ headphones Chan 3&4
Soundcards - 4 Out card > The created Aggregate Device (however you may have called it)
The only problem here is that the aggregate device may or may not work if the 2 devices are not compatible with each other (and be sure the Format and bit rate is the same for both).
