Why is it in Serato you can type any combination of words to find the song and in VDJ you have to type it exactly as file name or it will not be found?
Example: search for song BON JOVI - IT'S MY LIFE
In Serato you can type: "BON LIFE" or "JOVI MY LIFE" and you will find the song.
In VDJ this will not work. Can this be changed in future?

because serato users arent as intelligent as vdj users and need a wider range of search parameters.
that and if you type in even a portion of the title in vdj it comes up with everything with those letters in the title, in that order, and it works with the artist too. which is actually better because you want to narrow a search not make it wider.

Do we have to have every feature they have? Maybe we should change our name to Serato. It's not like you can't find a song. There is a trade off with every product. That's what makes us different. Is it that big a difference?

We don't need every feature from Serato, just the good ones. And in this case VDJ has even more ways to search a song. I just didn't know about it.

VirtualDJ uses Wildcards.

The advantage is that you can narrow your search as much as you need to, and have very accurate results.
It is not only the asterisk (*) If you are unsure about specific characters you can use a question mark (?) instead.

VDJ search is much better than Serato in my opinion. The way my files are organized in different windows folders, VDJ will search ALL folders whereas Serato will only search the crate that is open, I don't like that.

Seatro will search all music if you scroll to the top and select ALL.
