Just was wondering if we could implement multiple search DBs..
Example : Use Search DB#1 for all techhouse etc folders -------- Use Search DB#2 for all Chillout folders ----- etc...
so, if you are doing a techno set, the compatible songs list only searches in your techno folders...
if doing chillout, the compatible songs list only searches in your chillout folders...
I think this would be helpful when playing many many hours....
what do you think?=

Building a filter folder called "Techhouse Compatible" would use a filter like this:
bpmdiff<=6 and keydiff=1 and genre is "techhouse"(or whatever parameters you decide)
That would do the trick and eliminate the complication of a second database. You should always have access to all your music at the same time.

hey guys, thx for your answers.
Thing is that i have different folders with different styles from different people - i.e techno style from X is different from techno style Y
sometimes i want year XXXX techno and sometimes techno from year XXXX
sometimes music labeled X from this X style and sometimes music labeled X from other Y style...
anyway, just thought it would be a nice addition - depending on what kind of area or mood to quickly switch styles of X genre...
maybe have the option of multiple custom filter presets to choose from list? still think multiple search db selection would be cooler (ie. afterhours, morning, psy, proggie, minimal, techno, housey, loungey, mister X missus Y etc:P)
anywho.. just brainstorming :P

not really priority, but a nice idea.. ;) - anyway, VDJ is working better now than ever before=) thx=)
edit: ahh, filter folders... looking good... (thought i could only have one :P) still, would like to use the compatible trax folder on various different folders at the same time.. bleh, gotto get up early tomorrow so i will think about it when i have time :P

if you have the tracks in two seperate root folders you could use
filepath starts with "C://user/yourname/techno_style_x"
filepath starts with "C://user/yourname/techno_style_y"
you really should check out the wiki it has everything you are requesting. I have sort of done what you have asked using virtual folders to make a folder tree, it takes some time to set up but the results are worth it as I never have to move tracks from their download folder and there are multiple ways to find each track depending on the search parameters

Rather than the current rather clunky way of 'instructing' a filter folder to do something, it would be preferable to have
a 'filter setup' similar to the way iTunes software does Smart Playlists.....
So instead of needing to learn how to 'talk filter folder language', you simply select your requirements from drop down menus.
