Hey all,
I just upgraded from a really shotty Asus EEE, a little $200 netbook PC to a 13" Macbook Pro with an i7 Dual Core and 4GB of RAM.
Needless to say, I was hoping that it would blow Virtual DJ's performance on the ASUS out of the water. But...I went and loaded up Virtual DJ today to work on a mix, and the performance was actually quite shitty in comparison. The overall performance was good, but the soundwaves that are visualized on each track were going at a very choppy, speedy pace, completely unlike the smoothness that I used to get on my Netbook, which is unbelievable.
I'm not sure if this is what you guys call a latency issue or not, another problem i've been having is this computer is not as responsive when I hit the space bar for the track to play on, it simply dosen't respond as quickly, and then when it does respond a millisecond too late, the soundwaves are choppy and bad to look at, not to mention hard as HELL to mix with.
Can anyone offer me any suggestions? I'm using the free version right now, because I can't afford to upgrade at this point in time. I know that there is an entire page of registry tweaks of sorts for Mac users on Virtual DJ, but it's only open to Pro Edition Members.
I really don't wanna have to take this computer back already...and I don't feel like I should have to, considering that it outperforms my Netbook in so many ways.
Please help a dude out here.
Thanks!
-Tom

This link right here, I feel like would pretty much solve everything but I'm not allowed access to it.

Sorry mate, I'm not an expert, but I do have the MacBookPro13 and I bought the license for VDJ pro. Everything works great.
Not my place, but it doesn't make sense that you can afford a Mac and not a $300 program.
Maybe someone can help you out.
