Okay so I've spent hours trying to figure out how to record using Virtual DJ on my numark mixdeck with no luck, I've tried every setting suggested throughout the forums. To begin with I'm using a macbook pro and virtual dj pro. I tried the rca y cord link suggested only to get no sound with either record loop back setting. I tried other I/O settings only with the same results EVERY time, both decks are recorded even though only one is being played I've read that its because it only one sound card which makes sense but could you not separate the channels with the y cord? I tried a lot of stuff and need help really badly.... Cause id like to feel like i didn't waste hundreds of dollars on these things...

You should configure your computer to play music out normally through the MixDeck as described on the page http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/MixDeck.html

Then as described on the above page about recording, run a 2x RCA to 3.5 headphone jack cable from the record output on the back of the MixDeck to the line input built into your Mac.

Then use separate 3rd party software such as Audacity running at the same time as VirtualDJ to do your recording (This is far easier than messing around with advanced sound settings in VirtualDJ.)

If you cannot get any signal, make sure that the cable is not damaged and that the line input of the Mac is not muted.
