I have an RMX with the lates driver and the latest version of VDJpro7. I just got tables and trying to set up timecodes, but the sound is bad. Sounds like an actual old vinyl. I've been messing with the settings, but nothing seems to work. It sounds better after some adjustments, but not great. If I remove the timecodes in setting and just play the RMX by it self, everything is great. If I do a single timecode, it sounds the same in both channels, even the one without a timecode. I'm also now having issues with the pitch slowing down on iits own.
Any help would be great.

I was able to fix the pitch issue, but I still have the crackling sound.
Nevermind, it still doing it.

Sounds like classic USB-dropout/latency issues to me.
Get DPC Latency Checker as recommended in this forum and test your machine.
Turn off Wi-Fi/LAN and maybe internal sound - they're usual suspects.
Check your settings in VDJ-performance. Does it also occur with high latency (>11ms) settings?
And what specs does your computer have, anyway?!
... - Oh, and also post a screenshot of your TC-settings while playing TCs. Since I don't know the RMX: Does it have Phono-preamp? Maybe you need to check RIAA in TC advanced settings.
Your feedback is appreciated.

I have an HP Presario 2g ram, 250g mem, 64bit, windows 7, with AMD Sempron processor.
So I tried everything suggested here and nothing got rid of the cracking sound or the pitch/bpm drift issue. I googled the issues and found some serato user having the same problems. They got results by disabling several items from their laptop, so I started doing the same and was able to fix the drift issue, but not the cracking noise. I changed my sound card setting from aiso to the rmx in the VDJ settings and the cracking sound was finally gone. Although, this had no affect in previous attemps.
So I should be happy now, problem solved right! WRONG!!! Timecodes won't scratch, it just slows down the sound and plays backwerds, not scratch sound, WTF?! The whole point of me going with timecodes was to scratch. I'm ready to give up, I can't get these things to work like they should! I guess I can try to reload the software and see what happens.

What ASIO buffer size are you using on the Rmx ?
Have you tried slightly modifying the buffer size. Go one step at a time, run VDJ for a while, and be aware of any improvements.

I'm not 100% sure which setting it was last in, but I have tried every setting possible and I can't get it dialed in. I've seen some improvements, but no winner. I can only get one or the other issue fixed, not both. I may try a loop isolater for the sound and find a setting where pitch drift is no longer and issue. It drives me nuts just thinking about it!

Is audio playback through the Rmx outside of VDJ correct ? Do you get the same sort of crackling ?
If so, then it could indicate many possibilities:
- a defect with the internal soundcard
- a problem with the computer USB port or controller
- a problem with the speakers or wiring
Would you have the possibility to try the Rmx on another computer to verify if the behaviour is the same ?

The RMX works great without the timecodes enabled and I get the same sound in my headphones as the speakers, so I think it's something with the software.
