whats up vdj family does anyone have experience with the behringer powered subs?[b1500/b1800d]
I am interested in the 15" and would like some REAL WORLD reviews.
MY hopes are that they are a plesant surprise like the harbinger subs.[remeber reading a few post where the harbinger got good reviews]
And yes before its said i know behringer is not the greatest of gear!

If you know this, why not save up and get the subs that you want?

I have heard the behringers subs and they sound powerful and lovely.
As far as quality, I've had 2 b12a Behringers for 3 years now, they look and sound just as how they did when they were new.
I've used them at Bars, private parties, weddings, my house etc.
So, I'm pretty happy with that investment I made. That being said, those aren't the best sounding speakers, but for the price, they're more than paid for themselves.

I have a pair of the VP1800S (they are the passive ones, but use the same woofer I think). Love them Clean deep thumpin bass. Did a corporate gig with them last June in about a 5000 sq ft. warehouse and it was bumpin in there. I matched it with 4 EV ELX115 main cabs. I don't do mobile gigs often, but when I do, I definitely count on my Behringer Subs.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I think I am going to try the 15"
All the info I have read seems to be pretty favorable.
AS far as saving for better gear,my train of thought is that the sub will be part of my savings.
I 'll sale it on craigslist or something when time to upgrade.
Honestly my current workload doesn't warrant me spending a whole lot of cash.

Before you buy anything, Listen to them at the store. You will be suprised how things sound and feel when you actually witness it for your self. In other words, It could be or Not be what you expected. If you want a Affordable sub that's better than the behringer, Check the Harbinger HP118s http://www.guitarcenter.com/Harbinger-HP118S-Powered-Subwoofer-105471353-i1478660.gc Its alittle less intence from a QSC KW 181 powered sub.

Ok so i ordered the subs, and they sound pretty good.
I was also happy that they dont actually weigh the advertised weight of 90+lbs
they feel closer to the 75-80lbs.
WHAT I really need is some advise on getting the best sound out of my system.
This is my set-up: HERCULES 4MX ,x2 behringer b212d,x2 behringer b1500d, mbp,vdj7
It sounds pretty good but i think it could sound better with a few tweaks.
thanks in advance

First off, buy something like this http://www.pssl.com/Behringer-Xenyx-1002-10-Input-2-Bus-Mixer While Behringer's DJ stuff sucks their audio gear is pretty solid. Then buy something like this http://www.pssl.com/Behringer-FBQ-1502-15-Band-Graphic-Equalizer The reason I use Behringer's EQs is, they have a separate output for the sub. That eliminates the need for a crossover. Then buy something like this, which is in my garage http://www.pssl.com/Behringer-SX-3040-Sound-Enhancement-Processor or this http://www.pssl.com/Aphex-Exciter-Aural-Exciter-Big-Bottom-Enhancer which is in my road case. Both work well, I prefer the Aphex, it simply gives better sound quality. Buying the Behringer, however, is less expensive.

Thanks for the links.
I Have afew questions for you.
1: you think i will get better sound with a mixer?[better than the 4mx alone]
2: The subs have crossovers in them already, how would that effect the eq you showed?
3: What does the sound enhaancement processor do?

I like the added control an external mixer gives. You can adjust the music EQ on the fly without effecting the over all output of the sound. Anyone who mixes with MP3s will under stand how significant that is. It has the added benefit of good mic inputs.
The crossover in the sub is if you use it to drive additional speakers. If your running straight out of the EQ it should have no effect
The Aphex, for example, adds bottom end, and depth to your over all sound. You can tune it to your liking. I've used just my Mackie SRM450s in rooms with up to 150 people and every time, someone asks me where did I hide my sub.

DO You think the sound enhancement processor alone would help ?
IM trying to get better highs, and help correct mp3 compression [I think ]
I want a more hi-fi sound.

If I could only use one piece, it would be an EQ.

Here is a piece of advice my mentor told me 30 years ago. Put 20% from every gig aside for equipment. Until you have exactly what you want. You'll find you are never satisfied but, you will have a plan to keep feeding your gear fix... ;^)

Yes i have a savings plan just for dj stuff.
one other question pertaining to conecting my gear to an eq.
IM going from the 4mx l/r to the eq input l/r then out of the eq l/r to my tops?
What about my subs i have 2 so would i daisy chain them to each other then into the eq sub out then set the crossover point on the eq?
Will this allow me to eq my tops and subs ?

The Behringer EQ has 1/4 inch and XLR inputs and outputs for your cabinets. The sub out is XLR. I have never tried to run two subs off mine so I can't tell you how to connect two to the EQ.

lLink the subz together like u said & run the off the sub out on the eq.

I own two of the Behringer 1500x's, I used to have one JBL 18". I switched to the behringers when the new NEO 12" tops came out. So at first I only bought one 1500x and loved it so much I sold the JBL and purchased another Behringer. They are quite compact when compared to a 18" and put out about the same volume as other 18" subs. I have taken mine apart to inspect the speaker they used in the cabinet. To my surprise they have copied QSC and have used a rubber surround instead of paper. The sound is accurate and the bass just rolls off beautifully. I have pushed these speakers to their limit and even ran them for 30 hrs straight to break in the speaker on both. They do not get hot and I expect a long life out of them. Had them for 10 months no issue. I just wish gator would make a speaker case for them cause I like to keep my gear scratch free.
