ok guys recently got a folder of karaoke files but they are avi files.they play on vdj but wont show up in search.
is there a way to convert from avi to mp3 - cdg (like my other files) or allow vdj to show folder without manually opening in tree cheers

VDJ does not consider AVI extension as KARAOKE. You must tick the VIDEO (make sure it's added to the database) in order for VDJ to show AVI, MPG, VOB etc... from search.

VDJ only sees MP3+CDG (xxx.ZIP) as Karaoke files. All others like AVI, DAT, VOB, MPG, OFK etc... are considered VIDEOS.

I have found a way to find them easily, just use the "Genre" field to start with "Karaoke" then "Reggae" or "R&B" like this example, Karaoke;Reggae then sort or search, but you need to activate that field in the field tab option dialog...

Both Joey & Magic DJ are correct however I know when a video file is karaoke or a music video when the karaoke file is in AVI format because I have the music video labeled [Music Video] so I never have any issue with finding karaoke files this way...

Just put in a (KV) at the end of the Title line and at the end of the the genre string like this Karaoke;KV or Karaoke;Reggae;KV....Been doing this for years now...
