Forum: General Discussion

Topic: Pioneer DDJ Ergo V

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I ordered this controller a week ago and it just came today. Out of the box its set up was easy.

Anybody else use this controller? If so what are some tips and ideas?

It doesn't look like there is a thread for users with this controller already, I'm hoping this can serve as a place for general discussion and questions concerning this piece of hardware. I've lurked for a good minute so I'm glad to finally be a licensed user on the forums :)

Best place is the Hardware forum.

Super controller, you'll LOVE it.

I have nothing against the search engine, because I used it and those same threads came up. With the exception of one, they are all more specific in nature, whereas I was looking for a thread for general discussion of the equipment. Also considering I only speak finnish and english, and there being far more english speakers in the world, none of the other language specific threads look like they would be much use for me. mut kittos paljon :) Regardless, you did point one out that I must have glanced over, so thanks!

F<DJ Kyle Thom - what have you liked about it so far? I noticed a comment of yours in a thread that CSToll pointed me to about syncing and I have to agree. My use of serrato is limited but it has led me to a similar conclusion as you. I had an issue with the virtual dj LE syncing correctly with my ergo, no matter how many times I would hit/hold the master sync for either deck, they would seem to randomly choose one of the times I did the command. I had been considering doing an upgrade to pro, but now it is not likely, which is a bummer because when I downloaded some samples and effects from the site yesterday, they would not load into LE, so I'm assuming that is only a PRO option.

Also is it just me or does the controller seem to be made of "cheap plastic"? other controllers had a characteristic weight to them that insured confidence in workmanship. I'm not totally sold on this controller yet, but I've only spent ~2 hours with it, after another week or two I'll see.

I don't just have complaints though, contrary to my initial impressions, I like the lighting of the unit, A LOT. The pulse is okay but the red backlight is useful. I also really like the shift and cue functions on the controller.

Tl;dr: problems with sync and it feels cheap, but its fun to use and has some cool features.
