rick im a member mate but on the downloader section just a notice that due to adobe update blah blah.
no actual downloader on site

Just email Cindy and she'll send you a link in a day or two. The way they have it set up I don't really think its possible to share it, I think anyways.
And its been almost 2 years since the downloaded hasn't worked properly, lol! They are banking off people!! For some extra money you can basically reset your number of downloads, which you have to do cause it doesn't work, lmao!! I remember when you could check like 30 videos, wake up the next morning and they'd all be done. Now you might get like 15 outta the 30......

Good Luck
Huey

guys again ive emailed cindy and every member of 8th wonder can anyone give me even the old downloader.
its been months now and still nothing

Just a question : is 8TH WONDER 100% legal ?

You can never say for sure, however any site that offers an all you can eat buffet for $12.99 isn't paying a kick back to the labels, perhaps the labels are happy with that arrangement, or perhaps they don't care enough to start a lawsuit.

Don't know if 8th Wonder is legal or not, but as far as I understand it a record pool is just a place where you can get promos from all the labels in one place. As they are still promotional copies no one is charged for them as the labels still own them. The fee you are charged (sometimes very $$$) is for the pools work of maintaining their site, burning to disk, ect.

because of this i use zipdj :100% legal

I take all my music from legal sites : Itunes , beatport , dance-tunes , djtunes , and a service called zipdj .

I bought some tracks in the past from russian sites (Lavamus or Justmusicsstore ) , but nobody can say they are legal ... so i will never buy again there .

8thwonder : they also have videos ...and i think are the same videos as Promo Only have . So ....I don't want to give support to this site .

Technically all pools are illegal, but pools are tools and it is what it is.

More importantly over the legality is the A/V quality.
It must be rendered properly in the right aspect ratio and audio speaks for itself.

The problem is music leaks out overseas away from the American market first.
Sometimes its artists that are looking for a label to pick them up and demos get out, sometimes the artists do it themselves, there's lots of reasons.
I can't fault dj's who use these if the leaks that are beyond our control are causing the problem in the first place.

It's about doing the right thing to support the industry whether its the artist, the label or both, without them we are screwed.
Anybody can get YouTube video and many do, and this is a problem.
The only time I've done this is when the track is smoking hot and not out officially yet, even then many times the labels will release an unofficial lyrical track, but as video dj's we need more than that, so I understand the objective.

If someone has video subscriptions and needs that track, fine, its a temporary thing till the service releases.
If you are relying on the internet for your music and/or video and don't spend a dime (or $12.95) you are not supporting the industry.

Do it the right way is what secures our future.

As part of itunes terms and conditions none of the content purchased through them is to be played publicly, it's a consumer site catering to personal use, places that are legal and open to DJ's include vj-pro, promo only, beatport, traxsource etc.

This is the point with legalities, just because something is in writing it doesn't mean it's enforced, and fortunately we still don't live under a one world government so there's a big question on jurisdiction, many sites are only open to the US, UK or Canada yet they have international user bases.

I don't think it's about men in uniforms turning up at the door, it's more a question of respecting the industry, paying your dues and promoting the music, the amount of people I see holding their iphones towards the speakers...

zipdj is lame...been there done that

Then there is always the quality of the downloadable tracks or video file, that's the real question, what format they offer, bitrate...
I like to buy my Cds' and Dvd's and rip them myself, but it gets expensive though and the veriaty is not always available, especially with caribbean & reggae stuff..

That's a matter of OPINION and you are entitled to it.
