i ask you this question...

why dont you own a full version of VDJ 7????

you already have a cool name just it

DJ Jonathan Cordero or DJ JC

Whether he owns VDJ is not up to us to worry about, the guy asked for help on a tag.

Personally I don't really use one, everyone just knows me as Tayla, I'll stick DJ in front if a bar needs a tag for promo purposes. Then everyone at the new bar just starts calling me Tayla...lol.

i wasnt bein rude at him, i just asked him a question. that is all

This has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. Please do not badger users looking for advise.

What's wrong with just using your name??

I would recommend just using your real name, sounds cool to me and it flows. Problem with picking a "DJ name" is that you may later not want to use it and feel stuck to it OR you may just simply outgrow it. It happened to Puffy, or Sean Combs, or Puff Daddy or P. Diddy as well as LL Cool J, aka James T. Smith.

Here's my story. I picked up the name "Pitufo" in the early 80s while in High School because I was the shortest guy on the football team. At the time, the cartoon The Smurfs were real popular on TV so they started calling me Smurf and when I started working on a Latin Program at a local radio station, I simply translated my nickname to Smurf in Spanish, Pitufo. The name worked for YEARS, but frankly, I'm over it. I'm 42 now and I feel like my name is so juvenile...just doesn't go w/ who I am today, retired Air Force, father of 5. Although my youngest son, 9, enjoys calling me Papa Smurf, LOL.

Now I'm in a name crisis so I took advantage of my move to a new town and just started using "DJ I.M." or my name, Ivan Montero, but I feel completely unrecognized...like I'm not getting any credit for my past. I even tried to change my profile name here in VDJ message boards from DJ Pitufo to my real name, but received a response that it was not possible for 'security reasons.' ?? So, I'm stuck.

Take heed, listen to what the others are telling you here. If you want to get cute w/ a name, it may cause you problems in the long run, especially if you are serious about being a DJ. Use your real name.

Take care,

Ivan Montero, aka DJ I.M., aka DJ Pitufo

dj john cordildo

And remember there's no law that says "DJ" has to be in there also........I go by "the Sound Insurgent" or just "S.I.", I don't claim to be a Dj I just happen to know how to spin records, lol!!

Happy Hunting
Huey

DJ JONCOR or DJ JHONCOR can be so using the first words of your name, greetings
