When connecting my laptop to the mixer using mono seperated (1 white and 1 red into channel 1 and 2 line inputs) I then connect my vinyl turntables to the phono inputs of channel 1 and 2, and vdj doesn't pickup my turntables... help :S

I don't quite get what you are trying to do.
First of all: Please post a screenshot of your VDJ sound configuration and maybe a few photos of your cable setup.
What mixer do you use? What soundcard?
Mono separated sounds like a sound-OUT setting - how is VDJ supposed to pick up your TTs and what purpose is this for? If you want to use Timecode, you need an appropiate soundcard and, i guess, an edition of VDJ other than Limited.
