What do i need to do to connect 2 cdj-2000's to use as midi controllers for VDJ?

From the WIKI,
Set your sound settings in CONFIG -> Sound Setup to the following:
PC:
Inputs: None
Outputs: External Mixer (Deck 1 Chan 1&2 / Deck 2 Chan 3&4)
Sound card: ASIO -> Pioneer ASIO
Click APPLY.

does each CDJ need to plug in independently via usb to the laptop? Do these act as midi, or do you have to use timecode cd's?

of course each unit needs a USB connection, pretty crap that it need to be connected to the computer and not into the mixer. I've said for ages when are they going to have a hub in these mixers? all these cables are pathetic!

Sorry for sounding ignorant.. I've been using external controllers for so long and havent used cd players much since i switched from Serato.
