geposted Wed 11 Jan 12 @ 5:02 pm
or even a how to setup guide preferably for mac

try to do your midi mapper

i heard aboud a faq of scs1D fo all midi command
but i don't now if you can found a faq of vdj to create your preset

does the platter half to be mapped to or is that already good to go

I believe its good to go. You can look by going into the mappers tab and unchecking "show connect controllers", now scroll through the list till you find yours.

Good luck
Huey

My only problems with my SCS.1 system are:

The motorised pitch controller doesn't 'remember' to the deck's pitch position..... A Stanton guy wrote me: they work on this 'issue', but it is working with other programs perfectly, so probably the 2 software company should get in touch A.S.A.P.

Because of some things my SCS.1m makes crazy things with VDJ... (and only with VDJ, <borrowed version, cracked version, free version, ect....>) sometimes only the 2nd and the 3rd channel's level meter works.... sometimes my master level meter have a great latency (1-2 sec)...

The VDJ doesn't support individual pitch range for the decks.... only 'global pitch range' ... which is silly, since every DJ have a different tempo songs.... (I have from 70 BPM to 180 BPM)

and the SCS.1d's pitch slider using 7 bit midi mapping .... by hardware it could use 20 mapping bit also.....

but other than that VDJ is WAAAAY better than other programs.

And as I can see, Stanton SCS.1 system is the best contoller ever made for beatmix, scratch, beat-juggling, remix and so on.

As you continue to have your rant when ever you can ... as I have told you before. If you were a licensed user you would understand a few things more. But since you insist on continuing to use the software illegally ... well that is your first problem.

And the fact that it works fine in other programs is a false statement - considering the only other program it works in is Traktor - which is 1 program - not many.

Again, another false statement -- the pitch slider is only a single Control Change value - 7 bit resolution. There is no such thing as a 20 mapping bit value. The only other option would be for a change to the firmware to make it a 14-bit resolution - but that is not going to be done, per Stanton.

What options are you trying to assign?

Wish I could get my hands on set of these, their just dang costly. Maybe ill sell a set of Techs and get them....

hey thanks for the reply i am trying to assign the buttons on the top right of the unit i want to use for looping and samples i tryed the way in the video but as soon as i try to mapp it will go straight to the mapping for the jog wheel so i don't know. i really recommend u selling a set of your 12s and getting these things they are brilliant i used one of them at my club last night with not one problem and i was in heaven they are the most powerful controller i have ever laid my hands on i felt like a kid again lol. i really missed the turntable feel but now i am back. And to the non licence user my pitch fader works fine and remembers decks. GO PRO thats the only way to go and you get better support. Thanks to any one that can help

As I wrote, I tried already all the possibilty (illegal, semi-legal, and the free demo also) non of them remembered the pitch, so I just would like to know where shall I look for this option in the menu....

And to Cstoll.... I told you already, I will buy the VDJ 7 as soon as it supports my gear flawlessly.... I bought things for DJ-ing in the last 15 years (decks, mixers, few hundred records, cables, needles, ect) ... and my current setup (PC, controller, soundcard) worth about 3000 USD, so another 300 is not a big deal really.... I want to move from vinly to PC+MIDI, and sell all my previous gear :)

BUT to 'throw out' that amount, and all the other relyable gear is just S2pid.... I'm constantly seaking for software that I could use with my NEW gear 100% (RPM, MixVibes, Mixxxx, T2, Serato, dekadence and another few I tried.....)

The BEST would be VDJ from all of these.... and if I can use it (24/7) and it supports all my neads, (for ex: motorised pitch, or the LCD strips should write out what I want, and change these writings with EVERY song... ) I know it's worth EVERY penny :)

I would became a happy Pro user this week... If I could experience my needs are satisfied. Maybe VDJ 8 only......

hello
i have vdj home free now, i wait for buy because i don't have enough money lol

@Sidraz,

I have moderated your text. Free version users do not have access to modify controller mappings. Please do not post information like this in future.

Regards

Keith

CStoll, If I buy the Pro full version than I will be able to set my motorised pitchfader working right???
Or anyone will explain it to me how it should be done when I'm a Pro user???

D_Crazy: is your pitchfader rememerd the posiion from the first time of use or you needed to tweak it???

Is VDJ uses all the 4000 signals that the SCS.1D sends???
Could I add more layers of my controller via the 'preset' buttons on the SCS.1m (above the dial jog)?
Is that possible to get the "Cue flags" allways displayed on the SCS.1M's LCD strips, so if I change song the LCD's change their text also?
THX

P.S.: I will try again the free version after a FULL uninstall..... maybe the previous version left some dust and that's why it was not working properly.

The motorized pitch fader works currently (v7.0.5b) by following any changes made to a fader position on the skin. With the exception of when you 'swap' decks via the Deck Select button on the SCS.1d unit. This has been fixed and will be part of the next PRO release - so Version 8 or a special version 7 release before that if we decide to put this out there before 8.

What 4000 signals??? Nothing on the unit sends 4000 signals. If you are asking about the JOG resolution - it is using the full resolution supported by the hardware. The real number is confidential to Stanton and it's partners and will not be posted here.

EO4593 wrote :

If you are asking can you 'customize' the mapping - then Yes.

In the current mappings the 4 bottom pads already show 'NO CUE' or 'CUE #' on the LCD displays signifying if there is a CUE point set or not.

So, again; if you purchase a legal version then you will have the current mappings and I may even be inclined to provide you the updated mappings that are already built for version 8.

He's no doubt referring to the Stanton VST development plugin that has been shown on YouTube by nem0nic (Craig from Stanton) back in 2009, where he states - and the screen shows - 4000 counts of resolution on the platter.

Are you saying that the info given out by Stanton is inaccurate?
