My Rmx dropped on the floor and messed up the right side pitch and headphone volume controll. It has served me well before the fall and it was totally my fult. It hit the floor on a weird angle so it broke the pitch fader on the inside. I am going to keep it as a 4 in 4 out soundcard since that part of it was not affected. Now for the purpose of this post the sound dofference. The 4Mx has much better bass than the RMX it is more controlled and deeper. At first I tought that the 4Mx lacked highs but the higs are still there just that the bass is so much better. Ha anyone noticed this also.

I've always wanted to hear more about how the sound chipset/built-in interface sounds in the 4-MX, so I'm hoping for an informative discussion here. Thanks for raising the topic.

One more thing...
When I first plugged this into my desktop I got an error that the usb device is not recognized. Plugged it into my other computer and it installed without a hitch, Turned out to be the USB cable. It did not pass enough power to the unit. So moral of story use (buy) the best cables you can get.

My 4-Mix also has excellent sound quality, though I don't use it as my primary sound card on all gigs, I have a M-Audio NRV-10 that I use, but on occasions have used it in small venues and it could hang with the Big Boyz as far is sound quality...
