What size sub....Need help!!!!
Almost done deciding which new speakers to get, unless I change my mind last minute and go with Bose, I know for now I want to get 12" tops...most likely RCFs...either the Art 722s, the new D-12s or even maybe as main or backups the Art 312's (at $380 a piece brand new, and reading the reviews...those are very tempting not to have) Question is, I have Yorkville subs (the ls800ps that I use with my EF500P tops...HEAVY) I would like to use different subs for the speakers mentioned above....Should I go 18" or 15" and which ones? I loved the EV-ELX 112p and matching 18" subs, until a sub went out on me at a wedding (thermal shutdown for like 10 minutes) that is why I sold the EV set... any suggestion on sub size and brands for mostly 150-250 wedding events? TIA
PS/ The ones I've been looking at are:
Yorkville NX720P (15")
http://www.musiciansbuy.com/YORKVILL...NX720SKIT.html
RCF SUB705 (15")
http://www.idjnow.com/StoreModules/P...-DeID=0--SRCH=
RCF ART905 (15")

I welcome any input on other brands and models

The RCF 705 is very popular here in the UK.

RCF 705 is really good but heavy, too heavy for me and I can't be bothered sack barrowing for the sake of 100 yards.
Casters knacker up my speaker covers, I now use the 905's which are light enough for short runs from your vehicle.
Stay away from 300 series and go with the 722's, I had the 325A's and they used to clip like a twat.
And their so dated now, their 1990's speakers, the weight to power ratio is just stupid compared to todays standards.
for the audiences your talking about the 722's and 905 will do for most, I have played many times to 500 people from a pair of 522's or 722's and pair of 905's with ease.

If you want a very good sub that knocks.. Get the QSC kw 181 or the RCF sub. Single 18 inch sub's Ev ELx, Jbl Prx, Mackie Thump etc , Dont bother. When you blast the sub, you will hear the difference. Some of them get distorted. If you want a affordable sub that knocks, Check out the harbinger HP118s.
