$50-80 isnt really going to get you anything great. Headphones are a vital part of DJing and you get what you pay for. So if you cheap out, you're just going to end up looking for another set in the not so distant future.
You can check out some of the headphones this company sells, and go from there:

Alot of people have these if you can up your budget a little and they seem to last and give good sound:

These Numarks have been getting alot of good reviews lately as well:

Check out the Reloop RHP-10 Head Phones. They come in different colors and they sound good. The build quality is good because they are more fexible and stronger than many other brands. They are made of a strong composite material. They are not expensive plus, they give you features of $ 100 plus headphones.

@rude, those look very similar to the numark PHX.

@Blulite - But not at all the same. The American Audio HP-550 also look like the Pioneer HDJ-1000 but are not the same.

@rude, oh without a doubt theyre totally different in specification but looks, similar lol.
i dont tend to use my headphones a great deal anyway as i prefer to mix without or with monitors. i do use them to mark up cue points or check a track right quick but thats about it.

I use the Numark PHX or Redwaves. I purchased the Redwaves for $50.00 & the PHX for $25.00. They are decent build quality, good bang for the buck.

Ive been using the Sony v700 listed already in this thread for about 10 years. I might get something else someday, but you can't go wrong with these.

I personally use studio type headphones... Sony MDR-V150.... Can only buy them at Sears for around $20 with a warranty it is $25 the warranty in itself made me get them... Not one week went by and the bracket broke... Brought them back and they game a brand new set right in a box... no questions asked.....

djppdkk,
regarding the in-ear headphones you use, do they eat up 9v batteries like crazy? I have a set of Shure in-ear monitors that I use when I play in my band, but the receiver I wear goes through 9V batteries pretty quickly. I would consider using them, now that you mention it, but I don't want to be replacing the batteries all the time.
blainele,
"Can't go wrong w/ Sony v700..." Completely agree w/ you there. I've had mine since 2000 and they still sound great.
