For me - shocking news. Notebook manufactorers agreed that they discontinue express card slots on a notebooks because of low useage of slots by notebook owners. This is really bad turn for all mobile djs using express card sound card like echo indigo dj which is top highend pro dj card on market.I searched internet and found that already new notebooks are shipped without express card slots. express card slots were really great possibility of notebook extension so I think this is big step backward :-( so from now the only solution is use USB soundacrd which are bulky , cables usb bandwidth consumption etc....
Can somebody please recommend me some usb equivalent of indigo dj or some mixer with at least two analog (mic) inputs and integrated high quality asio USB sound card so I can have two separate outputs from computer to mixer ?
thanks in advance

Although it's still one more cable, I've got some good experiences with FireWire sound cards. They're a little more responsive than USB-cards and because of the larger bandwith more capable of processing multiple channels.

I have an old Cretaive Audigy 2 24 bits 7.2 surrounds soundblaster Express Card and still i can use it, I specially use this card if i have a setup like a cinema/theatrical plays setup this soundcard is very good in this setup because of the 7.2 surrounds systems. Not all manufacturer discontinued having it, there are still few on the market are currently available specially those laptop that is made and manufactured in EUROPE and America like mine i have booth last October 2011 a FUJITSU AH530/HD6 2.8GHZ and BOSTED Power up to 3.2GHZ Processor Intel® Core™ i7 M640 processor having Memory RAM 8 GB DDR3 1066 MHz PC3-8500, SO DIMM with 500GB hard drive this is very powerful configuration and this made in GERMANY not China. Try to look in the market with some of the manufacturer having it like FUJITSU & SIEMENS this two companies some of their latest laptops models are still having with Express Card.
This is how the express card of mine looks like that is available in FUJITSU AH530/HD6. Below the side by side comparison of the types of the express card i have and the models that FUJITSU AH530/HD6 supports the 54 & 34.

Hi guys. Well firewire is not bad solution as for bandwidth but also.... its very few higend laptops supplied with firewire - 99% notebooks from that few which have firewire have that mini firewire slot which I had problems to connect my second (firewire) soundcard ( card is dosconnecting all the time) so I end up buying quality firewire express card adapter so both soundcards I have I need use express card for.
I know there is still few notebooks on market with express card but becasue I will have funds to spent on new notebook next year( my 2 notebooks stiill working fine) I wanted buy new notebook at end of this year or in first quartal 2013 and Am suspicious after 12 months there will be already NONE of notebooks with express card on market :-(
I looked throught a mixers but there is very few mixers equipped with professional usb soundcard. MOst of them have usb only for recording and have no asio support so for PRO dj purpose nits useless. Those which I found that have asio usb soundcard integrated have either only 2 channels which is not good for me as I need at least 2 separate chanels for karaoke or have enough channels butr are bloody expensive like 1.000 usd and more so nothing in my price range which is upto 400-600 usd MAX
