Topic: macbook video card

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Sometimes when I'm mixing video, sometimes my computer usage will jump up to 60-90%
I have a baseline 13" macbook pro with a regular harddrive and 4gb of RAM and whatever the lowest processor speed is. 1.8ghz think.

i'm getting ready to buy another macbook pro. This time I'm getting a solid state drive and 8gb of RAM, still going for the 13".
there are no options for an upgraded video card on mac to help better process 2 video files at once. Does anybody know if i should upgrade the processor or is the RAM going to be enough?

I wouldnt buy the 13 inc h model if you are going to use it for Video DJ iing. You have no options for a better a better video card. Standard is the intel HD Graphics 3000. Its better to buy the 15 inch model. I have the 15 inch model 2.2 ghz quad core i7 with a 256 gig SSD , 8 gigs of ram and the Radeon 6750 1 gig video card.

When it comes to ram, its always best to ad more because it will make your computer run stable. The processor, Its better to have a computer with a higher processor like 2.4 ghz & higher i5 or i7 because all the new videos are being released in higher quality. Old school videos are easier to play in most computers because they dont use up alot of resources like the the new videos. Example.. If you look at the quality of the songs like Mr saxo beat-Alexandra stanz, Lmfao-Sexy & You know it, Lmfao-Shots, Flo rida-Good feeling etc. Those videos are Hd quality. For the Video card, you can use a 512 mb while a 1 gig is better for best performance.

but the 13" has a fastest processor at 2.8 ghz, the 15" does not.

2.8 is good but the Video card is wack. Anything 2.4 ghz i5 or i7 and higher with a good video card thats 512 mb or 1 gig will run nice. Just make sure you have 8 gigs of ram minimum. The 13 inch model is more for personal mobile use than professional use. Thats why the 15 inch and 17 inch models have the better video cards.

ah ha, thanks for the info.

Thanks a lot for your great information to us.In the following simple solution, I will explain how to switch between the nVidia 9400M and the nVidia 9600M GT video cards on the new Macbook Pro. On the new Macbook Pro, the lower wattage nVidia 9400M is used by default to help extend battery life. But when you need pure graphical performance, the powerful 9600M GT can be made available on demand. Here is how to switch between the two cards.
Switching to the nVidia 9600M GT on a Macbook Pro:

1 .Click the System Preferences Icon from your Macbook's Dock:
2. Now, select Energy Saver from the System Preferences Window:
3. From the Energy Saver menu, check the Higher Performance Graphics Option
4.Once prompted, click Log Out to Change Graphics Settings:
The System will proceed to log you out and then back in utilizing the 9600M GT for Performance. To Switch back to the 9400M video card, you can use the same procedure selecting the Better Battery Life Graphics option instead.
