Greetings,
Im looking for a microphone that is compatible with the Hercules 4Djset.
It has to be the kind of microphone they use on the FM radio frequencies.
But i saw on pictures that those microphone have a XLR Cable, that's the kind that wont fit in my Hercules 4Djset.
Are there any alternative microphones that fit my wishes?
By the way, this post is submitted with a Limited Edition User license, but my MAC has a Pro User License

This is a forum, not a helpdesk... If someone reads your post and is able to respond, they will.
Next time try the Dutch forum.... ;)
To be honest: I think this mic is serious overkill. You would have been just fine with a decent dynamic mic.
It won't work. You've bought yourself a condensator-mic which needs phantom-power. And that's something your console doesn't provide.
It is easy to solve: http://www.peterverspuy.nl/fantoomvoedingen/samson/smini-phantom-5568.html
Make sure you get yourself an extra XLR to XLR-cable. You'll need that between the mic and the powersupply.
Remember that this type of microphone is very sensitive to moist. Use the popscreen and to keep it in good condition you better put it back in its case after use.

I have also spent hours searching this forum for the thread that talked about how to actually broadcast or record the input from the mic using Hercules Rmx.
Can anyone help me find it please? Or if you know the answer that'd be great.
Back in the VDJ 5 or so, I was able to easily just select Mic input and the mic would record and also broadcast. But ever since the upgrade to 6 and forth is a pain in the knuckles.

Actually I do own a NT1, but I only use it for demo-recordings of singers. On the job I prefer a good old SM-58 or Beta-58. I don't like the fixed distance between your mouth and the mic that comes with a headset. It takes away the dynamics that you have when you can play with your mic.

When i went through the reviews of the NT1 they said it was a great mic so i guessed that it wouldn't hurt if i went to broadcasting with this mic.
The only reason for why i am using my headset for the broadcasting is because i didn't have a good broadcasting mic.

As Martin pointed out, the SM-58 is a rock solid performer. with good over all sound quality. NASA uses the SM-58 to record the audio for the launching rockets. It is durable, almost indestructible, Youtube has dozens of videos of the SM-58 being abused and still working. The cost has been @ $100USD for as long as I've been in the business. It also, does not need phantom power to operate.

No problems whatsoever.
The NT1A is perfect and above all crystal clear.
and for live perfomances in loud environments i bought an extra dynamic mic
the Samson q8.

NTA1, this type of microphone is best and usually used in the real studio broadcasting & recording application. While the SM58 & Beta58 are best used for live outdoor and concert application.
