I finally got a semi decent pair of head phones to use with my Hercules, up until this point I have just been doing everything on the fly.. Yes, it sounds like crap ;)

Setup : PC
Windows 7
8gb ram
x4 @ 3.20 Ghz
AMD Radeon HD 6950

I have my video card as my main sound driver via hdmi(meaning pc sound comes through tv speakers) and have a cheapo surround sound, 5.1 to be exact. I can plug each channel in via 3 audio cables(front, back, middle) and it also has an adapter to take the red and white audio outputs.

So my two questions/problems are as follows : I can get the sound to play out of the TV via usb, I can get the sound to come out of the surround via 1&2 outputs on the back to surround adapter, I can manage to get sound in my head phones, while I am only using the the Hercules sound card (headphones in headphone jack, surround sound in 1 & 2.), and I can manage to get sound just through my head phones.

What I want to do is get sound through my TV and my headphones instead of surround, so I can practice at night without having to use the 5 speakers + woofer. It really helps me to be able to hear both the music I am playing and the music I am putting out instead of doing it all in my head phones.

I have tried multiple settings in the config and have found posts via google that says use aiso mode but I cannot get it to pump through my speakers and phones. Am I missing something somewhere?

My other problem is that when I cue up a track when I have my headphones + surround sound playing together, the cue plays out of the surround sound and not just my headphones. So when I am trying to do something you can hear, "beat beat beat oddbeats beat beat oddbeats." This is horrible D: It is just like doing it without headphones.. If anyone can help me get my audio set up so I can start apply all the reading I have been doing, I would REALLY appreciate it.

This is driving me mad. The cue also shows up on my recording.

The more components you are trying to have working together, the more likely you are to get problems.

Now, you've bought the 4-Mx which incorporates an audio interface tailored for DJ work (i.e. make your life easier), and yet you are jumping through hoops to get this thing going.

I would suggest the following configuration:

a) Set the 4-Mx as your audio interface in Virtual DJ

Input : Line In

Output(s): Headphone > Master Chan1/2 / headphone Chan3/4

Soundcard: DJ Console 4-mx

b) make your audio connections

- Your headphones to either of the appropriate connector on the 4-mx

- Output 1-2 RCA to an analog input on your TV (where you would normally connect the audio out of a DVD player or gaming console).
