Hi
You need to provide a few more specifics.
What OS do you have on the laptop?
Where are plugging the headphones in? (it should be the N4, not the laptop).
You say that with DJ Intro "it works" - what works?
If you're using the VDJ LE version that came with the N4, there is no setup or configuration. The whole thing should be plug & play.

This is the reply I received
Hi. The N4 setup is little tricky because Numark did not wrote a dedicated driver for it but instead they use the generic Asio4All, which is actually a wrapper -> you have to tell this driver which of your soundcards to use, and to do that you need to make sure no application in the computer that can access audio is open or running in the background. Detailed Instructions :
As Numark recommend you have to install the Asio4all driver (www.asio4all.com). IMPORTANT : Select the option to include "offline settings" during installation. (reinstal if needed) Run the offline driver utility (from Windows start menu) without any other software running (even the internet browser) Then configure the driver to use the Numark soundcard NOT the onboard soundcard. Close the driver control panel.
The correct virtualdj settings will be : Inputs : None Outputs : Headphones Soundcard : Asio > Asio4All
