Good question....I'm thinking that in all seriousness, how much over 1 TB of space is actually even needed (FOR ANYTHIGN) except for maybe commercial applications?......My guess is they won't get much, if any bigger than 1 TB. A person would just use multiple 1 TB drives together......Seems like the focus for now is bringing SSD's up to the capacities of the old HDDs, which might take a while or require a room full of cash for a 1 TB SSD, (as of now!!).....good question though.......

My 1 tb hd is nearly full, videos, karaoke, and mp3's.

Just treated myself to a new lappy a week ago, it came with a 750GB drive on board which having put the music on it, has about 40GB left. I've pulled the DVD drive out and swapped it for another 1TB drive, which has my video and karaoke on it, leaving it roughly half full. If I'm honest though, there's a lot of duplicates and general dross in my collection that will probably never see the light of day, it's probably about time I got ruthless and pulled all the dead wood out of there!
Sometimes I think having a massive collection can be a mixed blessing if it gets too large and unweildy, you end up running off the same old virtual folders and playing the same old stuff because it's too much like hard work to go through the many layers of folders and subfolders on your music drive... It would be so refreshing to just whittle it down to what I know I can use, but it's that squirrel instinct that I have which is the same reason my house looks like a shrine to old disco equipment - if I throw it away, I might need it! Clearly, one day I might have a use for an old FAL twindeck console or a Mode Electronics touch panel lighting controller... *sigh*

I have about 210GB left on an 2TB external, as stated above there are probably some duplicates.

It's not a question of duplicates, sure there will be the odd one however my video collection is extensive and that's where the space went.
