Has anyone at Virtual DJ put hands on this 4 deck controlling beauty or seen it in action in person yet......

Dj Mad Flip of uniquesquared.com said he was very surprised at how responsive the jog wheels are.... i don't know about ya'll but right now this is looking like a $200.00 NS6 killer... I'm just saying it is a decent size, all controls a basically spaced perfect......and did i mention a price of 200 beans....

peep Madflip's video from the winter namm show here: http://youtu.be/TIHt8OBzKH0

he seems to be seriously impressed. not like someone being paid to talk about a controller but a dj that got on a new piece of equipment who was actually blown away by the performance. i mean look at his face son!

not sure about the rest of you but i love a good simple, cheap, but effective controller...

Looks nice but it doesn't have four sliders, 4 EQ setting adjustments. It's not really an NS6 killer because of these reasons but looks very nice. I will check out the video

Real talk....... for a 800.00 difference in price, I can excuse the things you mentioned. I don't really need 4 decks running at once for my sets and i am sure many Hip-Hop and Caribbean Music DJs will agree. One of the Ns6's main selling point was its high resolution platters, so if this controller matches it in that department.... I say NS6 killer.

There are some things I love about the controller. I just went and looked at it. It has the Kill buttons on the EQ. My RMX has this and I miss it with the NS6. The effects buttons on the top row another love! The 8 (yes EIGHT) Hot cue buttons. This would definitely be worth looking at for a controller.

For 200.00 it would be worth buying one just to play with and test out. Sell for 180 if you don't like it, it costs you 20.00 to try it out and possibly save 780.00.

yes if this thing had direct drive active platters like the ns7..... it would be the pound for pound dollar for dollar best controller on the market for hip-hop and caribbean music djs. if they added that and i would pay an extra 200 on top the original 200 for direct drive active platters... maybe even 500.00 total... i cant wait till it drops i hope vdj is on board with Behringer on this bad boy. Virtual DJ for America Tracktor for UK kinda deal.

The reason why they dont make compact all in one midi controllers with motorized platters is because of the weight. The NS6 currently has the best non motorized platter resolution from all midi decks. This controller looks nice but, its not a NS6 killer. Its not a Numark N4 killer either. The price is cheap because it doesnt have the important features that pros want. No XLR, No 1/4, No Booth Output.. No Quality crossfaders, No 2 mic inputs, etc. It has two basic rca outs, Basic features plus effects. I wouldnt be surprised if this controller doesnt have a mic input. If you like midi decks in this size, The Reloop Terminal 4 is better. I already messed around with one and its a nice deck. The Behringer CMD-Studio-4A is aimed at the Numark Mix Track pro and thats a entry level deck.

as for your motorized platter argument..... agreed understood nodoubt. as for the level of the jog wheel quality we will just have to wait and see..... as a former ns6 owner using virtual dj and a macbook 2.0... i was not impressed at all. it was barely any better than my mixtrack.

now i am willing to say this was a software configuration issue, and maybe my hardware (macbook 2.0ghz and 4gb ram) may have been inadequate for accurate catch and release scratching.

but in my experience with the ns6...... it was no more responsive than the mixtrack pro...

in a few weeks i will be buying a new pc laptop 8g ram, 750g hd, i5 2.33ghz with windows 7 professional maybe that rig will change my mind.

NOt a bad price point. Would like to touch and feel the build quality. Maybe a nice option instead of the Mixtrack Pro. I like the idea of full size pitched faders. One thing I never liked on the Mixtrack Pro.

Controllers only work with Virtual DJ Pro, or the LE version that came with the controller. That controller does not come with Virtual DJ LE, and you are not registered as a Pro user. If you have the Pro version, please register it.

These are the "official" forums for the Virtual DJ community. Every user here is using a legitimate copy of the software whether Home FREE, LE, or one of the paid versions.

I suggest you try downloading the Home FREE version to trial Virtual DJ with this controller. You will get 10 minutes use of the controller each time you start the software.

Once you have proved the controller works perfectly, you can decide whether you want to buy the full Pro version. On Pro supports controllers.

Good luck,

Roy

thks roy for quick reply i'try

not working in home edition. pls advice

you need to have VDJ Pro registered to use behringer's cmd line as the controllers were released after the last update of VDJ. The only way you can currently use them with the current release is to download the mapping from the forum. But you don't have access to them with home.

As above, you will need to purchase and register the full VirtualDJ Professional to be able to download these mappers and use your controller with VirtualDJ: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

If you like VirtualDJ, then please support the software and its future development by purchasing it (Especially if you are a working DJ and you are making money as a result of using it) rather than using an illegal cracked version which may be out-of-date and may not work correctly. Cracked versions often contain viruses, spyware, etc. as well as being unstable due to the unauthorised changes made to the software by hackers.

Also, if you are caught using illegal software and/or illegally downloaded music in public at a gig, both you and your venue could face prosecution and a considerable fine.
