hey there, i have just downloaded virtual dj for the first time in my life and am quite surprised with how limited it seems to be. i wonder if it's just me not knowing about some hidden functions it might have. one major problem is there doesn't seem to be a simple cut/paste(within a track) function on the software, which is the most basic thing you'd expect when editing music...i was wondering if you know what the idea is. do they expect you to do all your cutting with a different software like audacity?
also, the sound effects are quite catchy and superficial...i wonder if the licensed version gives you much more. i was thinking more about psychedelic keyboard/organ effects, which this doesn't seem to have at all. any thoughts anyone? do i have to get a mixing table? i'm not even sure exactly what that does (as opposed to softwares like virtual dj)
thanks a lot!

VirtualDj is a real-time mixing software used by DJ's to mix and create sets.
It is NOT a music production software. That's why there's no "Cut/Paste" on it.
If you want to "EDIT" or "CREATE" music then you will want to use another kind of software known as "DAW" (Digital Audio Workstation)
Audacity is a good free DAW that can get you started.
If you want to mix pre-recorded tunes in real time, then VirtualDj is what's made for.
The FREE version of the software has a few very simple effects, but the registered owners of VirtualDj PRO Full can download and use much more effects.
Also VirtualDj supports VST effects (not VSTi's though)
As I said if you are in production the VirtualDj is not the best solution for you. If you are into mixing, then welcome to the VirtualDj community!
